Is it possible to fix this?

I was just wonerding if I will be able to fix up this scratched up covering on my headlight. The scratches arent that deep. Is there a way to buff it out or put something on it?

Are you talking about a small scratch thats on the outside plastic of your headlight?

Im talking about the outside plastic on the headlight. They're the cheap projector headlights from ebay.:)

Thanks for the info btw ill try it out.

Try toothpaste, honestly. Use a small amount and massage it on in small circles with your finger. If the scratches aren't deep it will help. I have done this on my headlights before.

I believe there's a tech article on this site about clearing fogged/yellow headlights that would work for you. I know, that's not exactly your problem, but it should still work the same.

It's a little tedious, but basically just wet sand the whole lens with 1000 grit sandpaper, followed by 2000 grit sandpaper. Make sure to keep everything extremely wet, frequently rinsing off your sandpaper and the lens.

Now, use Meguiar's ScratchX over the whole lens surface. Apply it, let it dry, then buff with some sort of an orbital or rotary buffer. The RPMs don't need to be too low, but make sure the buffer's bonnet is wet, and check frequently to make sure you're not burning either the lens surface or your car's finish.

Once you get that far, I recommend going to your nearest PepBoys and looking for Mother's Plastic Polish. This stuff is amazing. Apply it liberally, then wait for it to dry. Now, you can just hand buff it and your lights will look good as new.

If you get a chance, look at my gallery pictures. During the procedure, I made some pretty deep scratches... even though the sandpaper was 1000 grit. Now, they look nearly flawless; it really speaks for this method.

well i have a mikita buffer and i use Dual Action Cleaner/polish which is a medium high cut compound and that will cut it nice and good then go over it with Meguiar's glaze 82 which is a light cut swirl free polish compound to take out the scratches from the dual action and then take that down with Machine glaze and you will have an amazing and clean headlight!! this works amazing on yellowing foglights as well!!
