Hey guys,um. im looking to get Carbon Fiber hood for my 1990 Eclipse for a good price, where do i need to look???

and other question is:
i saw one guy on the street today,he was driving 2gen GSX and he got on his rear window amblem, which says "When the turbo spins the bull**it ends" it looked awesome, and question :is anybody knows where to get those kind of decals??? Thanks alot

Ebay for the hood if you want cheap, and if there is a vinyl decal shop where you live all you have to do is go tell them what you want and they can make it. If you talk very nice to them they might even be willing to put in on for you ;) .

I agree, Ebay.

the decal, sounds like a custom one to me. there are plenty of places online that will make anything you ask them.

And for future reference, please be more descriptive with your titles.

"gotta couple questions" is not going to cut it.

You can find VIS carnon fiber hoods on ebay for a decent price. They are the best quality by far.

anybody have personal experience with ebay VIS hoods? i'd like to make sure they arent some knockoff that'll yellow or crack in a few months.

A friend of mine got a VIS with rolled edges for his Prelude. I can have him take pics if you like, but I can vouche personally that it is excellent quality. I'll get the name of the Ebay guy he bought if off and post it here tomorrow.

Seibon is a decent brand from what I've seen. The quality and fit and finish exceeds VIS in my opinion. I have a Seibon on my 2g and I love it. A couple of my buddies have VIS's and they have horrible fitment/gaps, and one of them had his latch break within a couple of months.

well..we all know that you should not use latches on a carbon fibre hood, use HOOD PINS. I am going to getting on this summer as well, and this thread has helped immensily:thumb: .

The actual latch held up on the VIS hood mentioned, but it broke around. I use hoodpins myself.

they make really nice vis hoods for hondas that fit awesome. Even though its a honda they still got it of ebay and it was a vis.

what i was getting at was i could wrap an oem hood in some cheap carbon fiber, slap my own vis badge on it that i could say stands for "Vinny's International Special" and sell it with a "VIS Badge" and nobody would know until they get some nasty hood in the mail. now it sounds like this is not the case since a few people are testifying their buddies stuff.

i'm just saying that i'd like to hear personal experience with ebay hoods and maybe even some sellers on ebay just to straighten things out.

i'm not getting down on anybody on here, i just want the solution to be very clear.

I have bought a VIS carbon fiber hood off of E-bay before, about a year ago for my old civic and it was badly warped when i received it, not to mention the fact that it took close to a month and a half to get it because the company they buy the hoods from didn't have any they said. so i ended up have to ditch the oem hood latch that they claim is so great and had to drill hood pin holes through my $700 hood!!! OOCH on another note* i did check to see if it really was a VIS and it did have a VIS badge on the under side.

I tried to buy a 1g VIS hood from the only Ebay'er selling them. Waited 6 weeks before I finally cancelled my order due to stocking problems. Be advised that just because it's advertised as "just arrived" or whatever doesn't mean they actually have them to send.

Read their feedback, oh wait it's private and you can't, I wonder why?

I've seen 3 CF hoods in detail in my lifetime.2 of them VIS,1 ebay. Both were nice, but the VIS just looked like it was better made.I would get a VIS if I could.

you can get an evo style carbon hood for the 1Gs on www.grounddynamics.com , the pic of it doesnt look that great on there, but ive seen it in peson as well and it looks very nice, i am probably putting an evo style carbon hood on my 92 talon in a few weeks when i get it painted:thumb: hope that helps you man

i purchased mine a few days ago from www.andysautosport.com as stated earlier and all i can say is they better have one hell of a good VIS hood. their customer service pretty much sucks. nobody decided to tell me that it was on backorder and is planned to ship out on the 24th!!!!...they didnt even let me know this. all i know is that their product better wipe my butt for that kind of money and delay
