we'll i looked on the forums and saw alot of the diagrams for removing the entire dash and such, but im looking to remove the one vinyl part on the right, does this require me to pull the whole dash? because i have a parts car to get another dash piece or an entire dash from that's in good condition, here's a pic of the dash

you must remove the dash to get that peice off. it is held on from the underside

EDIT : I should say to REPLACE it, you can of course get it off without removing the dash, just not put a new one back on correctly

it itself has peeled off so i can't truely bend it back to make it stay unless someone has an idea how i can get it to stick back to the metal, im in newjersey so it gets to 0 deg farenheit in the winter and 100+ in the summer so i need a bonding agent that will work in both conditions if i do indeed bond it

I wont guarantee this to work but try taking out the glove compartment and maybe get up in their with a pair of needle nose pliers. i haven't tried it but i was reading the thread and thought of it. I need to change the same piece on my car but dont really wanna take the dash out so I may even try it myself.

Good Luck

that peice will be hard to get to through the glove box since there is other stuff right behind the box (HVAC boxes mostly) as well as some bracing and also the vent piping.

That peice is connected to the vynil that goes all way across the dash. it is impossible to remove and replace the entire thing without pulling the dash all apart

well since i am no master mechanic and haven't messed with to many dsm's i mean i can remove nuts bolts ect ect do you think i could truely remove and replace it myself? i mean i can learn to remove it from the parts car but reinstallation may be difficult, is there a place i can pay to get it installed? or possibly the mechanic who works on my car? any input is appreciated

Sure you can do it yourself. Getting ALL the screws/bolts is the worst part of getting it apart. Then once the dash is un bolted from the car, getting it out can be tricky unless you twist/turn it the right way. There is an article in the tech guide section that I did showing how to remove the dash in a 1g and includes tons of pictures.

You could take it somewhere to have the work done, but keep in mind they will be charging you a bit of money to do the work
