95 Talon CD Player problems

I just installed a later stock Infinity CD player the one that looks like this

the stock one I had before wouldn't even turn on. Now the new one turns on and plays CD's but it has no sound. Is there something else I needed? Thanks for any info.

Do you have the amplifier under the passenger seat? You need that, and the DIN cable leading to it.

well I have no amp but there is this plug there is that DIN cable?

No, that's the harness that includes the wiring to the dash tweeters.

The DIN cable is a round plug that has something like 5 or 6 pins.

I had a problem where none of the stock speakers would work for a while. It ended up that one of the wires from the rear speaker was shorting out on the metal.

A infinity system headunit has no amp built into it if I'm not mistaken. That is why they provide an external amp. Without the amp you'll get no sound.
