CD player wiring

I have been trying to do this install for about a month and just havent had the time. My biggest problem is I'm not sure whats wrong. I have power to the unit. But it will not turn on. So I change it out for another that was working when i got a newer one. Well this one doesnt turn on either.

Both of these were working the last time i used them. I even tried hooking it up directly to the battery for testing. Still nothing. I dont know of any other way to see if these parts are working.

did you check the fuses on them? some radios have a small fuse in the back and also inline on the red power wire

Oh yeah, checked both of them. I would think it odd that both are fried. Could the harness have gone bad somehow? It's fairly old about 5 years.

Most likely a loose connection, like the ground or power had just hit a peice of metal and sparked, or grounded out. That led to the blowing of the fuse I bet..

no fuses have been blowing.

Test light is your friend

Check to see if power is going through the wires, and if there is a short anywhere.

There is power. 12.XX volts actually.
