anyone know where i can find a sunroof shade...oem or aftermarket (the cheaper the better) ???

i've been looking in the classifieds for months and still no luck.

how much does it cost from the dealers?

thanks

What happened to the original one? Better yet mine never had a shade either, maybe early 95's didnt have one? Id say keep checking junk yards and ebay, mitsu likes to charge stupid high prices for stuff like that and my guess is it will be part of the sunroof assembly.

The dealer here has one for about $75 My friend went looking for one, we dont know what happen to his  I have on that I dont have it installed Dont really see teh point.

don't know if i'm misreading your post, but do you have one that you're not using???

if you do, would you be willing to sell it?

Take the bartering to PMs.

To get a used shade, contact either Mitsubishi Graveyard (site sponsor) or M&S Recycling, or go to a local junkyard. There is no aftermarket sun shade.

i just got a sunroof shade from a friends junk eclipse it doesnt have the tan fabric and had a little surface rust so i removed the rust and put it on, now my question is the sunroof shade supposed to move back freely? my shade only goes back and forward when i push the button for the sunroof to go back and forward. i cant manually pull it back, but it is nice to see it go back and front automatically when i push the sunroof button....

did i install it wrong? or can you not move the shade without having the sunroof open? if so then why does it have the place for your hand to move it your self if it cant be done?

It is most likely installed incorrectly. Make sure all of the spring loaded tabs are in the correct rail. When I installed mine, I didnt have one of the tabs lined up correctly and it would only close half way. Pop it out and reinstall it and see if it will work freely. It also helps to install one piece at a time. Start with the piece with the handle, then put the other piece in after the first one is working correctly. Hope this helps.

^ +1 on what he said. when i pull mine back it hits what i would asume to be the stabilizer/support bar that goes across, and i just had to push harder to get it to go back. idk if the early 2g's had that bar, but it may be interfering for some reason.

well today i noticed that it has two arms one on each side and it moves down the rail when the button is pushed for the sunroof to go back, these arms are moving two metal wires that are on the sunroof shade one on each side these metal wires are much like a metal wire hanger and sit on the arms of the sunroof which has made me believe that the sunshade can not go back manually and can only go back and forward with the sunroof itself.i suppose if i were to remove the metal hangers i will be able to move it freely but then it will not close automatically,
is this right?

i think these shades popping off track and getting stuck is a pretty common prob right?

the sunroof loosening up and rattling really bothers me.

Those wire hanger looking things on each side are for the track rails to pull back on to open the shade WHILE you open the sunroof at the same time..So Leave Those There LOL
But be sure the tabs on each side of the shade pieces are still there and havent broken off..when mines broke off it was impossible to pull open by hand.
Just do what i did get some 2% limo tint and tint the sunrook really really dark and REMOVE the shade! =)

I think it looks silly without the shade. My car didn't have one when I bought it and I had to have one. It is blatantly obvious (IMHO) that something belongs there.

Gotta be incorrect install ive got a 95 2g and the shade moves freely and lucky me the sunroof is great condition compared to the most other parts of the car :/

if yours moves freely does it also go back automatically when the sunroof opens and closes the shade automatically when the sunroof closes?

but the track rails move up and stay up when the sunroof is closed so that means that the hangers are gonna stay up until the rails move back and pull it back by itself right?
then you cant move the sunshade manually then right?
without removing those hangars?

Mine moves freely, I've never tried to open it with the sunroof out of fear of breaking something. It does not automatically close.
