I have the stock premium sound system in my eclipse and it worked fine when i bough the car about a month ago. Then after a couple of weeks, it would play cds sometimes and not other times. Now it won't play cds at all, i looked in the slot today after i inserted the cd, and it isn't spinning at all. Does anybody have any idea what would cause this? Looks like i might need a new cd player...

I had the same problems when i bought my car last year, i just ended up throwing it out and installed a nice 8 track player :thumb:

Really though, just get a new aftermarket cd player

samething is happening to me right now, but my cd player is skipping with regular and burnes cd's sometimes it takes a while to load the song. Everything was fine when i got the car i guess i better start saving for a new cd player:rolleyes:

Well I tried using a lens cleaning disc numerous times and the cd player still doesn't want to cooperate. I gave up on it and ordered a Sony CD/Mp3 player which should be here in a few days. I hope that it isn't too much of a pain to install a cd player in an eclipse, I've installed a number of them in other cars, some went smoothly, others took some customizing and such. Will the stock amplifier under the passenger seat still be in use in any way? Or is there even a point in trying to use it? The Sony i ordered has 52wattsx4 max output (23RMS), I don't have a clue what the stock infinity system pumps out, but it sounded pretty good when it worked.

Stock stereo's are the biggest waste of time. Whenever I buy a new car, I alway's will have an Alpine deck in there with in 3 days gauranteed. Aftermarket stereo's are ALWAYS more fun.
