In dash EQs?

My car has the stock cassette player with AM FM radio. Its the one where the bottom half of it is the in-dash equalizer. What I want to get is a CD receiver to fit in the top slot, and an in-dash equalizer where mine is currently. Does anyone know if the stock equalizer will work with aftermarket CD receivers, or will I have to buy a new equalizer that is compatible with my new CD receiver? Does anyone know of any in-dash EQs that fit into the stock DSM lower radio slot? Sorry about the spam of questions.

Im pretty sure any in dash EQ could be fit underneath. There is a lot of EQ's to choose from but we have a PPI EQ in my dad's excursion and it works great and about the size of the slot underneath the reciever. Probelm is, it cost $400. Im sure you can find a decent EQ for half the price.

there are a crap load of eq's out there, I am goign to guess that the stock one wont work with an after market deck. chances are if your not using it on a line out put (rca's) for a pre amp it hsa the capablity to be a real pain in the pooper. added noise, that alternator squeal really be comes bad when you have a bad ground or there are two diffrent grounds with diff resistance readings. you may not need one I have seen more than a few "show" cars with out them I am talking abotu usac show cars though, thats sound quality compeating. unless you really know what you are doing with one and you shell our some cash its probialy not going to do much good for you. but I could be wrong cause I dont know what you are running for a system
