I am still trying to figure out where everyone is mounting their hood pins under the hood. I have searched through the hood pin threads and i am still a little bit confused.

Does anyone have a picture of their hood up showing where the hood pins are bolted to?

I saw that post and it is very informative but it still has me wondering exactly where to put them. I have looked on my own and cannot find a spot that will allow for the full pin to fit. Do you have to cut the ends of the pins off for them to fit?

thanks for the reply.

thanks for the reply.

found another article. It seems like it dosent matter as long as its strong to hold the hood down.

1. Here we see the carbon-fiber hood in need of hood pins. This particular set came with everything needed for the install, but this is not always the case.
2. Open the hood and look for a suitable mounting point for the post. This owner chose to use a factory hole in the radiator support. Hand tighten these as you will most likely need to adjust the height later.
3. By adding a little dab of grease to the post, you can mark where to drill in the hood. Then, lower the hood until it touches the post. Voila, a non-permanent mark that will provide you with the correct spot to drill.
4. A Dremel tool was used to make the space in the support frame of the hood. Once this is done, lower the hood again to make a grease dab for the main hole. Use the Dremel to drill the hole out using a slightly smaller bit. This allows you to enlarge the hole perfectly using a sanding bit.
5. Align the top part of the pin. Use a slightly smaller diameter drill bit than the supplied screws to make starter holes. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to secure the screws and pin into place. Once this is done, you can adjust the main post for a perfect fit. Then, tighten the nuts with a 12mm wrench.
6. Here is the finished product. A little bit of extra confidence that will help to make sure your hood won't fly up into you windshield on the freeway while adding a racier look.

Here you go

Does anyone have any pictures of the pins mounted? I mean in the engine bay. I need to install mine but need some pictures to get an idea where would be best and such. Thanks in advance.

What keywords did you use to search?
"hood pins" under "title only" in advanced search.
I have searched more than once on this and I havent seen any of those threads.
Well, don't tell anybody, but the search engine on here is nearly overwhelmed by the sheer volume (try a search with "car" in the string). Then there's the spelling troubles. Part of why we try to be so strict about it.
