I just recently purchased a 2g dsm and have to do some normal brake repair. I am planning on painting the calipers also. but before I do that, I was pondering the thought of engraving "DSM" on the calipers with a dremmel tool so that it would be permenant versus buying a decal. I have have made a stencil to paint on for guidence. Has anyone ever done this or have any feedback?

how about the decals? :dsm:

please don't

especially since you have the wimpy brakes anyway.
paint em black and be done with it.

Well, it could theoretically apply to handling tech... if he engraved the letters too deep.. and needed to know how to stop once all his brake fluid was laying in the road behind him. :b

Though I'm one to talk. I still plan to paint mine red. Think they'll look good against the white rims.. and hell. It's already a pain to keep the rims clean. What's five more minutes on wiping down the calipers, when you've already spent three hours washing the car and treating the interior?

As an alternate, you could just paint the main caliper, then mask off 'DSM' with tape and paint it on in (insert car body color here), white or whatever.

yeah i said forget the branding idea. So i grinded the rust off until they looked brand new. Then i put 5 coats of 1500 degree engine paint. then i put 3 coats of clear coat engine paint on em. They look pretty nice.
I apologize about posting in the handling area. I just figured your brakes are part of your handling system and are more of a handling component than appearance.

Well, they are, unless you're painting them up like a Kansas City whore. :D
