hey everyone...i searched on here but couldnt find any pictures or direct how to's on how to remove the front and back seat belts...what i am ultimately looking to do is painting the plastic area around the seatbelts...do any of you have any pictures of what i need to take off and a small step by step guide on how to take them off? I was looking at my seat belts today and was wondering how you can get the plastic piece around the actual seat belt holder type thing...and just havent had time to fool around with it...any help will be appreciated though..thanks everyone!

I'm interested as well, I took my headliner off yesterday and dropped two plastic clips into the plastic trim the seatbelts mount to.

In a vain attempt to reduce weight, and also gain easier access to my fuel pump, I decided to remove my rear seats. Then, only about a week later, my headliner began to sag so horribly, I just got fed up with it and decided to strip the whole interior (minus the door panels...).
I don't have any pictures as of now, but I'll try to post some tomorrow. To begin with though, you'll need to remove your rear seats. This is actually a rather easy step where you pull on the two white plastic tabs on the bottom section of the seat. That releases the entire section, revealing the center seatbelt receptacles and the two bolts that hold in the upper section. Remove the bolts holding in the upper section of the seat, and pull on the tab at the top (as if you were lowering it in order to fit more stuff into your trunk). Now that the seat's gone, you can easily remove the center seatbelt receptacles.
With all of that out of the way, you'll be able to see any remaining screws holding in the two panels (upper and lower) that cover the interior to either side of the back seat. If you don't see a screw or screw cover of some sort, its held in with clips, so feel free to yank and pry... it won't break.
Once you remove all four rear interior panels, you'll have complete access to the seat belt mechanisms. They're only held in with about three or four bolts each, either 10, 12, 14, or 17mm (can't remember exactly which...). You might have to slide the front seats forward in order to get to the bottom anchor of the the front belts and the anchor for the front receptacle.
I'm not exactly sure what you mean when you say "plastic area around the seatbelts" but if its the interior panels, then that's how ya do it. If you're referring to the actual plastic cover over the upper anchor, that simply pries off to reveal a rather large bolt securing it to the sliding mechanism.
Remember to keep all of your bolts and screws in order so you can slap the panels back on when you're done.
Feel free to ask me to clarify any detail I've missed, and I'll try to get some pictures up tomorrow.
