I've been told the Infinity Kappa speakers sound very nice. I'm no expert on car audio by any means. Currently I just have the stock 2g Infinity setup. Can I simply replace my stock speakers with the Kappas or do I need to upgrade the head unit and get an amp?

I have Infinity Kappa in my truck, and they sound great. I have the 6.5" compmnet set and 1 Infinity Basslink, it was very easy to put in. In the 2g I have I put in a new head unit and a basic set of Infinity speakers and running no amp, the sound is nice and clean but just not as good as the Infinity Kappa. I say if you want to put some subs in then ya get a amp, but you dont need it, and you dont have to upgrade your head unit.

i have the kappa perfect subs with my kappa speakers it sounds like a system that you would have 2 spend about twice as much as i did. I dont have amp to my speaker and they sounds great. I would recomend the subs with an external bass control that way u can turn the thump down or up (mines always up).

I have Kappa 6.5 and 3.5's in front and 6x9's in the rear with a Infinity Perfect sub sounds wonderful. They handle power well yet don't cost all that much and the sound quality is pretty darn good. I would recommend them to anyone.

I have infinity reference series component system up front and 6x9 kappa's in back and am useing eclipse 10 inch subs in the back, and i can tell you they all rock. the kappa's bring out the most awesome high end notes you have ever heard. I highly recommend them. :thumb:

Wait, so if you replace the factory speakers with Infinity ones, you don't have to replace the factory head unit?

I'm just curious, too.... I blew out one of my tweeters and the passenger side front speaker. Right now I'm just listening to music in the back. LOL ;) So what speakers *are* compatible with the factory head unit, anyways?

The 6x9's needed a lil more room behind them so I just ripped the goofy tar/sound deadening out and hammered out a lil divet for them to sit in. You'd never even know unless you took everything appart.

the 6x9 infinity speakers do need alittle more room. they worked well with the factory head unit, but i replaced it with an alpine unit. actually think it sounded better using the factory unit, though the reception on the radio was horrible. I think i need alittle fine tuning on it. think i need more power. I do notice i have some vibration from the rear speakers, any suggestions on a cure for this would be greatly appreciated.

well Knight, a lot of people recommend (if you want high dollar sound deaden-ing stuff) DynoMat. Pretty costly from what i hear, but you get what you pay for :) Im sure you could just google Sound Dampening Foam or something and check it out there, or go to a car audio place somewhere. Hope that helps!

I have kappas and I got them to fit in the stock location, it just takes a little bit of patience and testing/adjusting. They do have a tendency to rattle everything else loose back there though.
Sound is great.
