:) :)

Hello again. Goto a local fabric store (Jo Ann's Fabric's, Or some kind of local hobby shop... Wal-Mart even sells it) and pick the material. The center piece (at lease on 2g's) is cardboard. It's glued on or clipped on. Yank the old stuff off. Place the new fabric on and stretch it nice and tight. Staple it on in the bank and either reglue or clip

you can put vinyl over it or figerglass it. I did fiberglass, because my bottom carpet piece on the doors is fiberglass to, but whatever you want. While you have the door off, you could probably do the bottom part in vinyl too.

I would'nt go to a local craft store to get the upholstery, you should go to an automotive upholstery supplier. The regular fabric you buy at a craft store is not uv protected so in a couple of months it could begin to fade and vinyl can crack and harden. Look up an upholstery supplier in your phonebook at get something from them it won't cost an arm and a leg so don't worry about that, I would worry about having to do the job twice.

i havent even looked at fiberglass and i dont know where to begin with it..but if ya want a man out id appreciate it :D , later, thanks again
EDIT: oh yeah can i take out the vented part of my fash by the windsheild without taken out the whole dash??? thanks again, later

i used marine vinyl. that stuff is your best bet. it's stretchy so installation is easy. it is weather resistant so it will last a long time. and it looks great. i got mine at my local jo-ann's. so don't rule out the craft stores right away. also, you might want to check out ebay or even a funiture store.

installation is pretty simple. remove your entire door panels then flip them over so you can get to the back side. the trims are just clipped on so straighten the clips and they'll pull right off. for the bottom one, you'll have to pry a few staples to get the carpet trim off the panel too. don't bother ripping the old material off, just put the new stuff right over top of it. make sure you stretch the new material tight enough so you don't get any wrinkles then staple and glue (or just glue) the new material to the back. make sure you use good glue. don't use just staples because you wouldn't want them to come loose or rip through the material. then let the glue dry and put your door panel back together and re-install it. it's well worth the work because it looks great. just do it right the first time. pm me if you have any other questions.

here's a shot of my car with the door open. it's not a close up, but you can get the idea.

no. the vents are elaberately attached to the underside of the dash with a bunch of screws that you can't get to unless the entire dash comes out. a dash pull is a huge pain in the @$$ so i wouldn't recomend it unless you have a lot of time and patience. :notgood:

allrigh sorry for hijacking the thread but sounds like his was answered up but my question is how exactly does the carpeted piece on the 2g door come off. Is it the same as the 1g where you just pull the panel off and theres clips in the back?
