Third Brake Light

I went to a junkyard today to try and get a third brake light to put in my 2g (state inspection required) and the only thing I could find was a 1g. This thing kinda fits but kinda doesn't. It's hard to explain but I could get it to attach if I used longer bolts to hold the bracket to the bottom of the hatch. I was wondering if the mounting bracket and lamp was the same for 1g and 2g? (I'm talking about the third brake light in the window, NOT on the wing)

No, different stuff. There's not much common between 1G and 2G when it comes to body parts. But, you might be able to modify it to fit.
