I was wondering if anybody has heard of or has mr7 rims. There's this guy who is selling them for $275. They're 17" and come with tires too. Should I get them?

I've done plenty of research on rims and these are some of the heaviest 17's out there. If that doesn't bother you and the offset is correct, then go for it since Motegi makes a good wheel. If you're looking for something lighter and have the money, however, you may want to look at their Track Lite or a set of Rota Subzero.

Hope that helps,

Andy

Personally I think they are alittle played out, seems like everyone now adays is pimpin the MR7's. I think a nice 5spoke rime looks ALOT better. check out www.wheelmax.com for some really good deals on wheels and tires. If you like em then get em but I would float a different route.

Yeah, I think 5spokes look better too but they're expensive and I can't find any used ones in my area. Plus, $275 for 17" rims/tires is a pretty damn good deal if you ask me.

They are one of the heaviest 17" around? Are they heavier than the stock 16"s?

Not sure about the weight but buy them and sell them to someone else, the guy pry just doesnt want to take the time to put them in the papers or something and sell them.

if you want to be like everyone and their mom, get the mr7's. they are the classic 7 spoke design, nothing special. they dont look bad or anything, but extremely played out..... next you might want to consider a blitz kit, supra tails, and s15 headlights ROFL

the guy is selling them for only $275 because he's moving to another state.

I don't know... would you consider a 21-22 lb 17x7 heavy??? about the same weght as the stock 17's, but yes MUCH heavier than the stock 16's

Since it is obvious by your continuing this thread that you kinda like em... get em... later you can unload em to someone else... :shhh:

Just be aware you don't get any "style" points with your local "tuner crowd" from them...
the reason they are everwhere is because you can buy them at your local pep boys.

Motegi makes these heavy heavy rims. They are highly overplayed, but for $275, you can put them on your car for a little bit to see how you like them. And if you don't, you can always make more on eBay than what you paid for them.

dude i am running mr7's on mine and yeah they are a little heavy but i am not by any means trying to race my car LOL (obvious reasons). as far as being played out yes they are and there isn't much you can do about that. but for 275 i would definetly get them run em for a while till you find something better or cheaper. ebay them for double your price and bam there you go money for a mod :thumb: :rocks:
