Well i give up...i've been searching for edm tails for my eclipse for ages just to get it through inspections..right now it is the only thing preventing me from getting plates for the car

So i thought i could buy some "jdm" blackhousings like these:

The thing is that now i have fixed the wiring in the back so that it works with edm lights (i borrowed a pair for a few days but had to return them)...

I was thinking of melting the middle of the center section into the corners(i'm not gonna use the center piece anyhow)...and just use orange bulbs....think it will be hard to "melt the section into place or anybody have a better idea? All i need is for the corners to blink orange and i'm in the clear...i would rather spend 75 on a pair of blackhousings than 5-600 on edm's from machv....

Any suggestions???

You are going to have fun trying to get the assembly off in order to melt those sections..its gonna look funny too unless you smooth it out.

I think an easier route may be to leave the center peice alone, just pop the corner pieces apart and take out the red lens for the blinker. Then go to a home depot or some store like that and buy a piece of the plastic covering that goes over flourescent lighting in office buildings. It's just a 2 ft x 4 ft piece of frosted plastic, and they are super cheap. Cut out the right size circle and hot glue it in, you could even paint it with orange stain-glass paint if the inspection guys want it orange when the lights are off too.
It all depends I guess on if you want a quick and dirty solution just to get your tags, or if you want to leave the car like that after you get it registered...

I like your idea..... we use to do that all the time when I had a sunfre, we took that plastic stuff and made all sorts of clear lights with it. works well.

or do what i was thinking when i wanted the EDM's and didnt want to pay 500 bucks. i was going to get a set of cheap clear altezzas off ebay, then take apart the light and remove the red lenses ( if i could remove them, or change the bulbs to just white lights if they were color bulbs or something) or whatever else made the lights simple white and then get the translucent spray paint and paint it red and orange.
