consist of....

2 7.5" microvision headrest tvs

1 5.6" tv in a fiberglass airbag cover (i took out the airbag.. do its not gonna deploy in someones face)

- seems wierd having 2 7.5" tvs in the rear where people can barly sit to watch & a dinky 5.6" in the front. so i had to do this project.

-------------------------------------------------
project 1.

making a airbag cover to fit a 7.5" screen in the front.

this wasnt that bad. I used the bracket that came with the tv & wrapped it in cloth & fiberglasses the bad boy. the tv can now swivel up & down so taller/shorter passenger can swivel the screen up & down.

--------------------------------------------------
project 2.

-taking out the HVAC
-dropping the deck & adding another 7.5" tv

this project was a PITA cus that bracket piece bends & flexes.. i was afraid when i put the fiberglass on & install it, it would be crooked or off.. but lucky it turned out ok..

I ended up painting all the pieces the same as my exterior.. paint turned out really good except for little spots where i didnt sand properly..(not really noticable tho)

---------------------------------------------------
project 3.

-relocating the HVAC controls into the glovebox
-adding a DVD player under the HVAC controls in the glovebox

i would use a ps2 but ps2 dont play burnt dvds & i use alot of burt dvds.
ill prolly just add the ps2 under the dash later on.
not done yet..

-----------------------------------------------------

any opinion good or bad would be great.. i just want to know what people think.
ill take more pictures later when the pieces are installed in the car.

thanks

Hey man taht looks NICE, did you paint that airbag cover or find some kinda pearl leather/vinyl? Because your seats match that all too, it's a very nice job. :thumb: :rocks:

Looks nice, but what is the point of 2 TV's where no one can sit? or even having 3 tv's in the car period? I just never got that...
I can honestly understand a multifunction head unit that can do it, even 1/2 in/on a vehichle that actually HAS a back seat that people can sit in to watch them...

Maybe it is just me and believe in the function of driving more then show...

looks very nice, How experience have you had in doing fiberglass in the past and where/how idd you learn? :thumb:

the covers were painted, the color is called icepearl.. its just a clearcoat with blue pearl in it.. i painted the first layer white & through the ice pearl over it..

its mainly for show but i drive kids around alot & the tvs help keep them quiet ..

yeah HVAC relocation is not easy i have heard due to cables blah blah please elaborate

it really isnt that bad.. once u pull the HVAC out theres 3 harnest plugs & 3 cable wire which controls the vents. all I did was cut the harnest off & extended the wires to reach to my glovebox. change the 3 cables to longer ones.. everything costed me about $40
now all i have to do is make a mounting bracket for HVAC unit

acually im still learning .. just trial & error.. its pretty simple to do.. what i did was took the airbag out made a wood bracket to hold the tv in the position i wanted. got a piece of fabric & pulled it tight over the whole piece . resin & layed on the fiberglass, sand, sand & sand..

just a quick walkthrough. ill make a writeup on how to fiberglass later on when i do my next project.

I did the same thing.. Course this was my first time ever fiberglassin but it came out decent..

please i would love pics of this and pics of actuall cables lenghened. i put a 7 inch in place of my radio and then wired up the faceplate on the headliner while the rest of the radio is behind the tv. i like this cause its unique but would prefer something similiar to what you are doing so i can get a bigger screen in there (xenarc touchscreen)

Anybody ever had any problems with cops ticketing you for taking out the passenger airgbag? Or for having a monitor in view of the driver?

In fact I just learned today that if you got into an accident, not only will your insurance company not cover you because of taking out the airbag, but the passenger could actually sue you because of it, and you could face up to 20 years in prison. Kinda scary. Drive slow :D .

acually im in canada.. it really isnt that bad up here.. ur not alloed to have the tv on while the car is in motion unless its a gps map or something assisting the driver.

modifying any safety shit in a car is aginst the law.. if u get caught, they make u fix the probem & take ur car to inspection.. i still ahve my original airbag so i can just put it back in anytime.

passenger sueing: passenger can only sue u if the driver airbag deploys & passenger doesnt.. so al i did was disable the driver too.. hahhha

i got a tv ticket in my truck right before i sold it (same tv that is mounted in dash of my eclipse) but he saw it and asked me if it was for navigation. i said yeah and then he wanted proof. i said i didn;t have a disk and he wrote me a ticket. i got this during the day and it was off he just saw it on my dash. funny thing the cop was the new boyfriend of a ex of mine very interesting. but i got it thrown out cause he quit the force. if its within of view of the driver its illegal but i think things are quieting down since so many cars come with it now

Not to be mean, but what is the point of an LCD in the head rest? No live human can fit in the back seats.
