quick speaker question

i have a 98 spyder gs with the infinity unit in it. can i put any speakers in there?

reading what i just wrote it might be a little confusing. my real question is can i put aftermarket speakers in my car with out fear of blowing them up with the stock deck and still running the stock amp?

Well, I'm not the most knowledgeable person, as of yet, but after reading your second post,

Wouldn't your only fear be putting a new headunit on, that would blow out the stock speakers? It shouldn't happen the opposite way, since the new speakers will most likely have a higher RMS then the stock ones, right?

Just make sure to check the wattage, before buying the speakers.

i have also heard that they because the stock speakers are 2 ohm any aftermarket speaker you put in would blow out because they are 4 ohm

thanks for your help i understand it somewhat but right now i am ready to fall asleep. i went and bought speakers anyway but i got the 4 year replacement plan so if i blow up the speakers i can just get new ones. i will let every one know how i make out in a few weeks.

The radio will seem much louder with speakers, yes.

They will, I had my dash and doors wired in parallel off the head unit for a year, no problems.
