Hi Guys,

When I bought my GSX, the previous owner had installed white faced gauges in the car and while they look fine in the daytime, they look lousy at night when they turn green. Is this a result of the bulbs he used or is it the gauge faces themselves that create the green glow. I'd like to remove these suckers and just have plain white faced gauges for both day and night since all of my additional Autometer gauges are a true white face with the lights on or off. Is such a part available?

Any advice of guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Green how? Like greddy gauge green or baby snot green? I would think that if you don't like them you could just replace them. Not that difficult, a little bit of time but not difficult at all. I think the bulbs are 194's? Correct me if I am wrong. If they are green like the greddy gauges I would say get rid of the autometer and get some greddy's. I think that would look prety cool, too me at least. Hope I helped a little,
-Mike

These are actually baby snot green. I'm sure they're overlays and I doubt the guy did anything with the bulbs so it's probably a matter of changing the faces to something that will actually light up white and not green. Guess I'll hit up ebay and see if they have something.

im in the process of changing the LEDS behind my stock guage now...i ordered some T1.5 bulbs from superbrightleds.com and they are the correct type of bulb, except that they need a little bit of shaving to fit correctly. the T1.5 bulbs are also called 74 bulbs from what i gathered during my research. Good luck!

Most indiglow gauges are adjustable from green to blue and all the different shades of the two. You're going to have to take the gauge cluster out to follow where the wires go though. Wherever the wires lead, will take you to the adjustment knob, and then to wherever he tapped into for power.

just go here, tru-ish high quality overlays with any backlit color, white in the day, only the numbers light up at night.

Indiglow gauge faces. They may have adjustments for changing to other ugly colors.

Now that is comedy!!!

I hope that everything goes well with the gauges

Sorry, but that was damn funny. These things are a joke and I'd rather just rip them out and put in a true white faced gauge if I can find one. Snot green and snot blue just aren't my thing!

Thanks for the help guys (and the laughs)

If only all cars markers just used Indigo blue for their gauges.

That is a VW GTI, the Boost gauge is after market, it installs in the console, really awsome in my opinion. The other lights in the Dub are going tob e red like that and the head unit is a matching indigo blue. The Boost gauge can come in blue or red.
