Ok I have searched and it is something that i guess is a little hard to search for or isnt covered to often.

I was thinking of taking the GRAY seats in my 1Gb and taking hte middle part of the insert that is a different pattern, And replacing it was plain BLACK

( this is not my pic or pattern just used to see the area that I am talking about. thanks to FWD98GST for the pic.)

Any pics or thoughts on this? :thumb:

Are you talking about using your 1gb seats in that 2g car? If so, that won't work since the 1g and 2g seats mount differently.

If you are talking about changing the upholstry on your seats, then yes it can be done in a new two-tone, but you would have to have the seat cloth custom done. With leather you can order the upholstry online and have it installed at a local upholstry shop (not a real DIY job though). For cloth you would need to talk to a local custom upholstry shop and have them make new upholstry in your desired color combination.

Yep thats what I am talking about jsut the middle (different) pattern on the seat changed to black on a gray seat.

I am sorry for the confusion sometimes things dont flow out right nad other time my finger tips have a mind of their own.

With a little patience you can re-upholster your seats! I just ordered black leather from jcwhitney and put it inmyself. (Well almost still got 1 seat left). When you order they give you the option of 1 tone or 2. I have never done this before but its really not that difficult. Its like any other mod, it looks alot more difficult at first but once you start takign things apart its a no-brainer.

What I did was went to walmart and picked up some Duplicolor fabric dye in a can, should be in the spray paint section, took out the seats, carpet and door panels and went after it. I tapped off the areas that I didnt want to get painted with 2 layes of masking tape and a plastic bag. I have had these in my eclipse for about 2 years. When I get home I will take a picture and let ya see. It has been done on here before so do a search for fabric dye and see what ya can come up with. I get off work at 9 and I'll go take the pictures. :thumb:

look at my gallery, i think i already have what your talking about. it costs 900 to put all the black stuff in the seats and the emblem in teh back.

It should be pretty easy. Remove the seat covers and cut the seams. Pattern the center sections using the stock centers that you remove. Reassemble. If you can sew it should be easy.

"should" be, but remember, there wouldnt be peopel that do it for a living if it was that easy. I didnt dare do it

im interested to see how that turned out

Ok here ya go here are some pictures, They aren't the best and the car is DIRTY (my mom drives it now  ) anyways it all holds up real good, I had it done for about a year before the seat bottoms needed another coat but other than that it stays up really good because the paint actually dyes the fabric it doesnt paint it. It might fade after awhile but it'll always be black there aint no get this stuff out. Do a search on here for the stuff on here or www.2gnt.com there are a few ppl over there that have done it too. :thumb: pm if ya need anything else

Looks good, same concept as me, which paint did you use for yours? I HAD to do my middles because the previous owner left some stains :shhh:

Paint?? I'm pretty sure that's different colored fabric, looks to be a different texture too.

hmm could be I dunno, looks like what my friends seats did when he painted them completely black. It may be a suede or something but my friends looks like that cuz of a slight fade from use and from the sun. either way it looks good, I love my duplicolor fabric dye

that is paint. I took my time and did a good job when I did it, cost be around 100+ do redo the entire gray interior in black.

It is duplicolor vinyl/carpet dye in a spray paint can. Found at any autopart store that sells duplicolor. High traffic areas such as drivers side seat where i got in and out all the time and drivers side carpet (had floor mats though) started to fade with time. But all I had to do was spray it again.

wow I just looked at your webpage, all that is really dye? What was the original color? Is it stiff or fell like normal fabric?
