I miss my old system in my Camaro soooo much so I decided that I wanna put a system in my Talon. My old system was a Solo Baric 10" L7 with 800 Watts going to it and it pounded to say the least. I wanna put a 12" L7 in my Talon or even a 10 with the same 800 watt amp. Is there anyone out there that can make me a custom box? Thanks, Ryan :talon:

i run two 10 L5's in my 1g awd. I made the box, carpet and it doesnt take up all the trunk space. Nice IMO. I will try to get pics tonight or tomorrow for you.

Sounds nice, would really love to see pics.

Wafflez66, and your responce did answer his question? Diddnt think so. The problem with someone else making a box for that size of sub is gonna be the weight. Mine is a 1.4cu ported box for a single 10 type R, and I would guess the box weighs about 40 lbs. 3/4 MDF weighs a bit... Plus the size...

My suggestion is look around at others boxes, Ill put up a pic of mine in a bit for you, look at what others have done and try to build one your self. we can give you specs on how to build on if need be, but they really arent to hard to build unless you are going for a 6th order bandpas or 8th order, snailshell, ect... But a basic box, simple. I can send you a program to figure out your port size for a certain HZ and run with it.

Not exactly the answer you might have been looking for but it is an answer toyour quest for a sub box. :D

send me that program man, I can make my own, just didn't want to. hehe

I definately wanna put 10" and up Solo Baric in there.

before my system got stolen, I had 2 kicker l7 solobarics, and 2 kicker amps the box wasn't that heavy, and it put out awesome bass... only had it 2 weeks before it got yanked... still working them in, but when i tested them my friends could hear me 3 blocks away, not that i'd wanted it that loud all the time, just some extra umph... i bought the box though, it didn't take up much room in the back of it though... are you lookin for a custom box to fit in a corner or what exactly? just curious, i saw you already had gotten a program so no help needed, but just wondering. sorry about not answering b/4 and just saying what i said... i'll be nice ;)

what box did you buy, I dont need no custom one. is any of the eBay ones good enough, if so link me to the one you recommend. :thumb:

If you don't mind me asking how did they steal them out of your car...and a hatchback is the best car to do a sub intsall in...the way the soundwaves bounce of the glass makes it sound better than any trunk out there.

well, i was working at Toshiba (they make tv tubes, or did LAYOFFS) and i came in one night for my 12 hr shift parked in designated area w/ security cameras and need id to get in to parking lot... must have forgotten to lock my door... came out and my shit was gone, both amps, both subs, box, eclipse deck wiring everything

when i went to get the video, it was sooo terrible (black and white) and grainy all i could make out was that it was a dark colored car and 2 people. it only took them 6 minutes to take everything... don't know how they got in, or out but it was professionals. the thing is that a few friends of mine had gotten systems from the same shop, and had theirs stolen not too long after mine. none had installed in that shop, just bought them and installed themselves but i think they had a "buy back program" if you know what i mean....

i had full coverage though so it all worked out and i even got a few extra $$$ b/c i had gotten them onsale but it didn't ring up that way so that was alright... sucked though!!!!

0to60, you got PM.

Wafflez66, Sorry if I sounded like a adzz earlier. I just get tired of people always getting answers like "try the search", "thats a dumb question", "Why would you want to do that?" I saw your post berrating some one for not answering and thought I wold say something. I could have worded it a bit differently.

that didn't answer his question at all :thumbdown

His question was "Is there anyone out there that can make me a custom box? Thanks, Ryan"

This guy links us to a thread where I, suprise suprise, made a custom box for a 12" L7. The exact sub he wants. How is that not answering his exact question? The problem is that 1, shipping on boxes is expensive. Problem #2 is that "custom" means fiberglass. Fiberglass means lots of labor. IE for that box, I've got about 100$ in materials in it (sound dampening, do-it-yourself bed liner, fiberglass epoxy & resin, fiberglass mat, rope, some mdf, stainless steel mounting hard ware) plus maybe 15-20 hrs of labor into it. Working for no less than 25$ a hour for custom labor, plus the cost of materials we have a 600$ box. Not many people want to spend that much on a box for just one sub.

If people want cheap, take your ass to circiut city, or best buy and get some ghetto Q-Logic pre fab boxes.

If you want a good custom box, made from fiberglass, which is much much lighter than mdf, be prepared to spend some money. You'll find my quote of $25/hr to be much cheaper than most stereo shops charge. :thumb:
