stupid ?, does the vent switch have to be switched to the right for A/C

I am thinking about putting my turbo timer in place of it so its going to have to stay one way or the other, thanks, Adam

Well, during the summer its best to keep it to the right when using your a/c, but all other times, i would keep it to the left.. especially when using the defrost setting.
so, if i had to leave it one way or the other, i would leave it to the left.

That's the switch for inside/outside air.

Get an Owner's Manual off eBay.

while on the subject of that switch, mine does not go all the way to the left, it gets real notchy and just stayed about a half inch from left. the right is fine though.

seeing that its just a fancy toggle switch, maybe you could just move it and place it in the glove box or mount it under the dash so its sticking out from under the steering assembly or such.

but if its all one unit like alot of a/c controls on most cars, its not going anywhere. though i have no idea and a/c systems are something i make a note not to mess with.

In my 1g i just opted to remove that entire "switch". busted out a 2 1/16" hole saw and chopped through that b___h. Truth being i was anxious to put my boost gauge there and slightly traveled offset. Never the less would you rather have recirculating air or fresh air?
At the time i was burning oil so i just pulled the wire to recirulate cabin air. After a new motor i pulled out my gauge and pulled the wire again to circulate fresh air. All depends on preference i guess.

I guess it depends on whether you like to breathe other peoples' breath and engine/cabin smells, or fresh air
