Im Rewireing my Auto meter Cobalt Electronic Boost gauge...I had it going directly to battery
Im in the process or changing it... I tryed the Cig lighter It doesnt have constant power So I Figured I would wire it to the Back of the Stock headunit but I wasnt sure which wire was for the memory\Constant power... and no I dont want to wire to Ecu :thumbdown

You keep saying constant power, you dont want to hook it up to a constant power, if u did it would be on all day and kill your battery after a while. what u mean to say is accesory wire, that will give it power when the car is on, or in the accessory spot.

I dont know where it is on you specific deck but it wouldnt be hard to find, just hook up your ground to the same spot your deck is grounded, and find the constant wire by theory of elemination, it wont be a black wire and it wont be any speaker wires. You will find it no problem, just look.

I would use the cig lighter for power and the cig lighter ring or ashtray illumination for the bulb...

however run the ground for the illumination also to the ground for the same bulb to keep the factory floating ground dimmer dimming the gauge...

why do you need to read boost with the key off? you won't have any and if presure testing just inset the key and turn to acc on.

nice article except it is easier to pick up the illumination positive and negative from the mirror patch

I did not need power cause mine's mechanical... that's why I could not remember where I got my power from!!!!

my gauge is mechanical also but i wanted my gauge to light up so i just tapped onto the wire cluster from the lights so when i turn on my foglights my gauges turn on. btw those colored wires are the constant and switched from the stock head unit.
