So basically when I connect my Illumination wire to a 12v power source my dash lights come on, but they also dont shut off when i turn the car off, and when I connect the negative illumination my tail lights come on again, but dont shut off with the car either, what do i have to connect these illumination wires to so that everything is normal again?
(95 Eclipse GS, Alpine Head Unit) thanks for your time guys.

PS - I have read most every post in here on this problem but cant figure out what the heck to do with the illumination and dimmer wires, ground them, find another wire to connect them to, wrap them up, ect.

Just a suggestion - I believe there is an illumination/dimmer wire that is designed to run to the head unit(deck) and most of us have aftermarket stereos now and no longer use it, so maybe you can use this wire or if you still have the stock head unit you can tap into it. :dsm:

No, I dont have the stock head unit, i have the alpine. Dont worry about it guys, I'll just take it in. Thanks anyway.
