Hey,
I'm not really experienced much with car audio so I thought I would ask my questions here. I'm looking for a Mono Amp that will provide slightly more power to the Alpine Type-X subwoofer running at 2 ohms. The one amp that I have in mind, HIFONICS BRUTUS BX2200, is advertised as a Mono Amp. That is where my first question comes in: when I look at the pictures, it shows 2 speaker outputs. I thought a Mono Amp should only have one. Here is a link to a picture of what I mean: http://imagehost.vendio.com/bin/ima...tz/bx2200ee.jpg.
If anyone could explain this to me, I would appreciate it.
Second question: are the two products compatible? Here is the specs on both.
BX2200:
# 1 x 550 Watts @ 4 Ohms
# 1 x 1100 Watts @ 2 Ohms
# 1 x 2200 Watts @ 1 Ohms
# 1 ohm stable
# D-Class Design
# Variable Bass Boost
# Ultra-Fi MOSFETS
# Zeus EVXP (Exponential Vari-Power Supply)
# Simpatico Coiled Design
# HSMD - Hifonics Surface Mount Design
# Fully Adjustable Accu-Cross Crossovers
# Regulated Power Supply
# 0.08% THD
# New ultra efficient design
# Line Output for Amplifier Daisy Chaining
# Variable Bass Equalization
# Variable Sub-Sonic Filter
# 2 Gauge Power Connectors
# Additional High Speed MOSFET Output Devices
# Maxi-Fuse
# Subsonic Filter
and here is the info on the
Alpine Type-X Subwoofer:
# dual 4-ohm voice coils
# frequency response 23-200 Hz
# power range 500-1,000 watts RMS (500 watts per coil)
# peak power handling 3,000 watts
# sensitivity 83 dB
Thanks,
Samir
