anyone else sick and tired of the useless factory reverse lights??? it may be fine for no tint conditions, but when you have a dark tint on the back the factory lamps are useless...i was thinking about buying a set of elcheapo fog lights and wiring one of them up in the back under the bumper in a tastefull matter so that its not really all that visible ( kinda like the old european porsche reverse lights) anyone done this before? i would liek to see some pics to get an idea of a good place to mount it...maybe build some kinda custom mount and weld it to the frame opposite of the exhaust.......i dunno, just an idea

no eclipse rear...and i dont really want to convert...do they even make fog lights small enough to go into those holes, that would be a pretty slick idea if you could find them...i am just thinking one of those low profile square lights mounting just below the bumper and maybe recessed a bit

I know on the 97-99 Eclipse rears they make lights that will work.....and I know they make some pretty small driving lights(they just have larger housings for waterproofing/mounting... one way around your problem though, if you've tinted your talon tails..is to get another set, or strip those down, then mask over the reverse lens, which would give you tinted tails, but leaving the square-ish space with your reverse lights free of ting, and keeping you from having to go through trouble of custom making something...

If you want some tails, pm me, I have a full set that I have no use for...or if I could get ahold of the tint spray, I could fix them up for you and save you the trouble :p

Either way good luck... but I'm still skeptical about the lights below the bumper thing...

With tinted rear glass, you're never going to get "enough" light to see at night. However, these help a bit:

Hey I looked for those online, should I just head over to Home Depot or somewhere else for them? I dont feel like paying MACHV 20 bucks plus shipping for backup lights. Thanks.

i saw that in super street. it was on o civic or some type of honda that had the fog lights on the bottom of the bumper of the car. then you can do another twist and put some strobes as well. I was going to do this becuase there are a bunch of rednecks around here that get on my butt.

***FLASH*** :p

will putting higher wattage lights in those sockets damage anything?
Apparently not. I wouldn't want to leave them on for an hour, but for the short time you're in reverse, they seem to show no signs of caring. The wiring's up to the load, easily. The weak point I'd suspect would be the socket itself, but mine have been in for about a year.

you really wanna go custom ????
go get the whole fog light assembly from a 95 or whatever intrepid....
cut the holes in your bumper at the corners to fit and slide them in
