Just wondering has anyone modified their lights like this? I think it looks good and I recently saw a dsm with it in town. For those who don't know or are unfamiliar with this it is basically making your turn signals (in the back) blink faster than normal. I am unsure of how I go about creating this effect. Can I just replace the stock ones with bulbs with higher watts? thanks.
Give your opinion on the effect etc etc.

Umm...not trying to be a jerk,

but if you saw someone who had that done, they either blew a fuse or a bulb somehwere.

That's not a modification, that's just something breaking.

I know people who have done the 'hyper blink' as a mod, but Im not sure exactly how they did it. I always thought of it as a ricey thing but I guess it depends on the car. Ill try to find out for you how its done.

there is a company that sells an interface, it lets you adjust the speed / pattern of the signals, i completely forget where i saw it. probably on ebay.

also, i remember modding the turn signals on my friends integra, probably 4 or 5 years ago. i dont even remember where it was, but i know we changed a relay somewhere to make them speed up. Its sometimes viewed as illegal though, if the cop wants to be a prick ***and usually they do*** they will say its distracting (conveniently ignoring the fact that a blinker is designed to be a distraction, to warn other drivers of your intentions) and might even go so far as to say you were attemtping to impersonate a police officer (its happened, trust me.)

basically, if youre planning on speeding up the blinkers, at least leave them a legal color. be careful if you live in central new york or other states / areas with insane law enforcement.

i remember on civics and such you get a different relay that makes them blink faster.

but here in cali theres a law that there can only be a certain # of flashes per minute, i think its 30 or something. they did that to be able to pull over the civics for yet another fad.

my tbird did the hyperblink one day. it meant something is wrong, not that "oh shnapps dawgg hyper blinkers foo".

if i remember correctly just cut one of the wires and ground it. forgot which one. i think theres three so not the power or the ground.

All you have to do is create more resistance in the power wires going to the turn signals. Grab some resistors and wire them inline.

yea i have only seen it as a mod on riced out civics but its possible.

Its a common thing when people use cheeper LED blinkers.... it doesn;t use enough elextricity for the flasher mecanizim and makes it go faster

Doesn't use enough electricity? You mean it has too much resistance. That's why I told him to put resistors in the power wires if he wants to do it.

yea .. thats what i ment... so he could just buy some led's!

hmm it could be that his/ her's were going out but I have seen them done before and I don't think I have some weird luck to catch people's bulbs burning out.

I have heard of these before, kits that allow you to control the speed of your blinkers. I just thought it was expensive and would be cheaper to do it another way. I will check it out though.

Going to LED bulb replacements will do it. Unfortunately, it tends to have an association with "ricers".
Nice thats what I will pick up then and imo it's irrelevant of what people think.

thanks everyone for the replies

I think he wants to know how the "importfan gt300 widebody kit" would look combined with the qwhees(spl?) widebody kit. gt300 does not = 3000gt  if thats what you meant... it would look like shit and not match up at all and you would need to do a lot of body work to make it work and it would fall apart if its not a trailerbitch. :thumbdown

why dont you go sit in a corner or something? :p

who mentioned a bodykit in this whole thread? i thought it was about lights...

anyways everybody knows to speed up the turn signals you need better blinker fluid..

greyforest - I've got the same problem as you in my 2g. The right taillight is hyper and the left is normal. I've switched the bulbs and even the taillight harness.. I'm gonna feel like a moron if it's the damn fuse :p Is there a separate fuse for the left and right signals, or just one? In the kick panel or under the hood?
