the other night i was driving and everything was working fine. i turned off my car and turned it back on about 45 minutes later, all the lighting in the interior is dead while the lights on the outside still comes on. i checked the fuse box in the engine bay and everything seems to be ok. what could have caused this?

Your dimmer switch is probably dead. I had the same problems with my Talon, I replaced the dimmer switch and all is well again.

my gauge cluster is dead as well, EVERYTHING. so how much does it cost to replace the dimmer switch? and where i can i get it? thanks

You'll probably have to get it at the dealer. Not sure how much they charge. I got mine off a friend's parts car. Here's a link to checking the rheostat (dimmer switch). I suppose you could hot wire the rheostat so your dash lights will work....

dimmer switch as in the knob that controls how bring or dim u can turn your interior lights right? if so, do i just need a new knob?

mine's doing the samething. like first when i get my car the speedometer went out, but the other gauges still worked, and the only interior lights that work is my light on the ceiling, and my a/c gauges. and then shortly after that my a/c gauges went out. the only light that works in the interior is the ceiling now. so all i have to do is get a dimmer switch and that should fix the problem. i know the speedometer, well according to the mechanic i just need a speedsensor for that! so i dunno...

Sounds like your problem is bulb related, not dimmer switch related. If your dimmer switch is bad, no lights will work in the car at all. If your lights were working, now they're not, check your bulbs. You can test your dimmer switch with the link I gave above, if your lights work when you bypass the dimer switch, then that will be your problem.
