hey all, I have a 1G and the bare dashboard on the passenger side is always driving me crazy because it's so bare. Any ideas on what I could do or pt on the passenger dash to make it look better? I'm thinking a DSM sticker, emblem or something of that sorts. Pics would help too!

OMG that's sweet dude :D do they make a sticker of that?

my hero :thumb:

i'll probably get one of those, but any other ideas?

yeah i felt the same way, so i figured id take apart my portable dvd player that i dont use anymore, put the screen in the dash there, then have the dvd part hidden somehwere. sucks because i broke the damn thing trying to get it apart :thumbdown

damn that does suck. I had the eagle emblem on the dash from the back of the car, but it was the origional badge and was in pretty bad condition. So you guys think that sticker will stick fine to the rough dash?

the sticker maynot stick that well because of the texture of the dash, or it might follow the texture and appear all wavy.

as for other ideas, iv seen gauges mounted over there, tv screens (which some people are not interested in at all) and others have made places for laptops to flip out of there and things like that. i know what you mean about it being empty though.

Im currently having the grey padded area on the dash recovered in black vynal, along with the armrest. All fabric is being done in black suede and a new carpet kit in black. :thumb:

First off to answer you're question, stickers will adhere. You need to make sure to clean any armor all off. It doesn't adhere the best but if you take your time it should work. I had custom work done on the passenger side. I had a tv molded into the dash then had the dash wrapped in vinyl. For those who feel it "useless", my wife has watched plenty of movies over there while on the way back and forth from car shows. I've also used that and my other screen to play games at shows. Before the screen I had a sticker in that spot, it's just to boring on that side.

yeah that aint bad, have any of you guys seen a DSM badge ever?

1.Take the A/F gauge off the pillar, and put it there to entertain the pasengers.
2. Some sort of emblem
3. DVD display
4. Gosh, I don't know as I have done nothing at all to mine.

That sticker from Mach V was great by the way.
sorry OMG

i felt the same way, so i put a ralli/art emblem there. it looks like it would come from factory like that.

Haven't done this yet, but should be done in a month or so. I'll try and post a PS chop if i get around to it.

Anyway, I built a carputer with the Casetronic C136B case (seriously sweet case, fits a slim slot-load dvdrw combo drive, can be bought at www.monarchcomputer.com), and for my other DIN slot I'm going to put in a SB Audigy Platinum- the one with the separate drive bay, which won't fit in the case. Screen's going where the HVAC controls are currently, with boost controller and turbo timer underneath it. I'm going to have to cut out this area and fiberglass it to get that to fit. For the passenger side (back to the topic) is where I'm going to mount the HVAC controls. These are pretty easy to relocate on our cars; the AC button is wired, and the vent controls are done via a cable. A slightly longer cable may be necessary, but it's still a cheap and easy thing to replace. Basically just drill and mount everything. With it all in, every inch of my dash will have utility, and it won't be boring at all. Oh, and with the HVAC controls, you don't have to reuse the knobs, you can get cool looking polished ones or toggle switches for the wired ones.
