For some reason my taillights and interior lights dont light up. I checked the fuses in the car and thye were good. I did have a blown fuse under my hood by the relay box, i replaced the 10 with a thirty. It was the tailight fuse that went. But when it was replaced, i start the car and then it blows again!!! I cant even ride around at night time now! whats the deal guys?

Let me get this straight...
You burned out the 10 amp fuse.
you replaced it with a 30 amp (not smart)
You burned out the 30 amp immeadiately.

You sir, have a short, get yourself a flashlight, a multimeter/continuity tester and start inspecting the harness. Did you recently take out the back panels in the hatch? Drill any holes in the firewall to run wires? install something near the fusebox?
Personally I'd start at the lights and track backwards on the visual inspection.

I wired 2 noen lights directly into one of the fuses inside the car. That must have done it, but dam i dont know how to check for a short.

And you think if i look at the taillights' wires i would see something visually that would show me a short? help me out man your my only hope.

Well, start by unhooking the neons, replacing the fuse with the standard 10amp, and see if it blows...if it doesn't..then guess what. Your neons are the problem and you need to find a better way to wire them. If you unhook them and still blow the 10 amp fuse then something bigger is going on..and then it's time to start looking for a short..but start with the first suggestion.

I did unhook the neons..come on man, im not supid. I did immediatly replace the fuse under the hood with a 10. Then i started the car and the interior lights were on for sec, then faded out. The taillights went out also.
So i dont know where to begin now, i cant even drive my car at night. No fuses are blown inside the car, not even the fuse that i used to hook up the neons. So what do u seggest i do now at this point--without bringing the car to Mitsubishi? Thank you again for your help.

sure you can drive at night, do what i did. duct tape a flashlight to your front piller that shines on the gauges

yea...ah but what about riding around or getting tailgated by a cop, then what? I have no tailights, just brake lights. What did u do?

Okay I think we have the problem solved.
1)find a better way to hook up your neons
2)the tail lamp fuse should be a 15amp (as noted on the fise cover, i didn't bother checking at first)
3) the 10amp almost worked but thermally burned itself to a crisp because it isn't quite high enough.
4) 5 amps may not sound like much of a difference but keep in mind that as little as .07amps on the heart is considered to be lethal.

Replace the tail fuse with the appropriate 15 amp fuse and life should be good again.
if not, let me know.

this happened to me and the problem was that my sidemarker wiring had come out somehow and the two leads were touching eaching, which in return would blow my taillight fuse everytime i turned on the lights.

Ok I will try everything out and get back to you guys. Those were some real solid answers. thank you.

I tried everything that you guys recommended. So uhh! Ihad to bring the car to Mitsubishi, they have had it for 3 days now! I found out that it wasnt because of the neons that I hooked up. It was because a short in the headlights. They still need to find it. But thats the deals guys, what do you think>?

ha i think they will charge you alot of money;) , this problem happiend to my friend just now so when we figure it out i will update for more people that have this problem
