Gt fabrications carbon fiber hatch 1g/2g

Currently, Gt fabrications makes a Carbon Fiber rear hatch for the 1g dsmers. Its made of real carbon fiber and weighs in w/o glass in at 7.5 lbs. The hatch with lexan glass weighs in at approx 10-15lbs (depending on Thickness of glass). Factory hatch with glass weighs over 45lbs. It also utilizes the factory mounting points so basically "bolt on". Ive talked to the ppl at Gt fab and they said they would make one for us 2gers if they have enough ppl interseted in it. $320? Prostreet industries says they have a carbon fiber hatch for the 2g's but its probably just a mistprint or something and they were charging $650 320 looks much more affordable. I REALLY want one, I hope we can get enough people together who will buy one for the 2g.

P.S. as I say in every CF body part thread. If you have a 2g you can get any body part in CF from squidskins. There site is down right now but they sell every bodypanel in CF for a 2G.

Will these carbon fiber and fiberglass hatches keepout the the water when it rains? To me it looks like they wont seal very well and your trunk will become a swimming pool.

The rubber seals, not the hatch. CF should be rigid enough to keep itself in contact all the way around.

Hey I'm totally in for one of these. Ive been lookin around for some time for one. I just want to keep my spoiler on my 97, do they make one with a spoiler or am I going to have to risk drillin holes in the hatch?
