what is an infinity system. ????????

I just got a 95 GST. It is turbo and all and while i was looking around the car i found this box under the passager seat. it saids INFINITY on it and there is a wire not in. the wire is comming for the front of the car and i am wandering if anyone can give me some info on this stuff?

its prob the stock amp - as a guess maybe the wire was for a CD changer? or if the car has a aftermarket radio maybe the last owner unplugged the amp
