problem with 2g oem shiftknob from mach v

does anybody have a problem with this shiftknob other than me? because when i put this knob on it doesnt tighten on correctly. like when i do tighten it the knob is on sideways and i have to loosen it up a bit to face the rightway but when i shift it sometimes like to turn on me. anybody gots this problem other than me on a 1g? thanks

I would stuff something in the end so it will tighten earlier and hold straight.

Yeah is screws on.. But if you put something in it so it tightens up faster and holds center.

Hey Im curious to know what is the different betweeen machV's oem knob and our stock one? Does it sit any lower than the original one? Is it alot heavier? I want to know cause I hate how high the stock one sits. I want one that sits alot lower? Anyone have any suggestions? thanks guys.

I had that problem- then I realized a previous owner chopped my shifter so there was no thread up top *ugh*

well OEM usually means that it is actually the stock shift knob...

A chunk of tire tread would work great. But first, have someone larger try turning it on for the rest of the turn it needs to be aligned. It should come out just fine.

You're saying he lacks upper body strength?

You can use anything for a shim. Usually a washer of the right thickness will do nicely. All you need is for the threads to end up tight at a different position.

The knob is not defective; it's just the nature of a thread-on knob that's directional.
