extend the filler neck on the gas tube.

weld in metal to fill in around the new door.

prep paint.

then pay the bill OMG

that is not going to be cheap at all. what your going to pay to have done is going to be a whole new paintjob for a diff car.

haha..I'm putting on a bodykit, new fenders, vents, new mirrors etc. so I thought I might as well put on a 3G gas door :)

I dont think it should be that hard or expensive to put it on since Im doing it my self? What do u think?

bondo and fiberglass isnt strong enough to support something like that.

you would have to weld in a patch over the gas tank to seal it, then cut out the hole for the 3g lid.

then you have to drop the gask tank to get full access to the filler neck and then cut it and reweld it with the extension. then reinstall. then you have to make a custom piece that goes Around the filler neck because you just cant have the filler neck loose

it is alot of work but

Someone find that slick blue one that had it hidden under the taillight.

If I were doing a 3G, it might work best to cut out around the area from a 3G and weld the whole piece onto the 2G. But I've not seen inside a 3G flap, I don't know how far it is from being adaptable.

I know finding out it was a $150 dealer option was all I needed to know about that cool-looking flap OMG

And thank you for fixing your Profile :thumb:

I like the stock 2g fuel door the way it is. Granted the 3g looks nice ( I'm not into bling bling exterior ) but the cost of putting it on is not worth it. Hell any non dsmer won't even notice that it was a custom install.

So you have to take the tail light out to refill the gas? That's ####ing stupid!

^^^ hes right, its on a hinge to where he can pop it open when he wants to and then move the taillight back. thats cool if u think thats stupid but i kinda like it, its unique

Who is the owner of this car and how can I get in touch with him? Want to know how he did it. thanks

the only thing im thinkin about the tail light one is worrying about water possibly getting in there and then when u had to fill up with gas does most of the light pop out or what, cuz that cap looks kinda far down to reach with minimal room
