bloomfield,
hey everyone! whats up?
i am new here so please, go easy on me!
i really want an eclipse gt, but theres just one small problem, i stand 6'6 and am over 300lbs. i test drive a 1990 plymouth laser a few yers ago, a 1997 Talon a year ago, and about a monthe ago, i drive a 03 eclipse left over, it wasen't a gt, but gave me a feel of how big it was. the laser is out of the question, my leg was jammed between the steering wheel and the center concel. the same thing with the talon. i actually found the laser easier to fit into. anyways, then i drove an eclipse. it was still a little snug but it was much better than the other two. so, my question is, are there any kits you can get you mount the seat further back? if i recall correctly, the rails for the seat are part of the frame, so i can't si a custom job, by remounting the rails, or can i?

An Eclipse GT is not a DSM. I'm 6'7 ish (maybe 6'8) and right under 300lbs. I fit fine in a 1g.

I have a 2G NT and a 2G-GSX and I am a big boy... Bill Bradski big!!! The ass groove I have in the seat fits me like a damn glove.. It will feel odd at first because the Eclipse has a cockpit setup much like a fighter jet (F-16ish... something I fit in too! :) ) The 1G's even more so. So unlike some other cars... you will sit inside of it because it wraps around you... it will not be a roomy but you will adjust and grow to love it... even on long trips...

I have been in my friends 3G. Her car has more room and much better seats... and the steering wheel has an adjustment arch that is usable... Unlike the 2G.

If you get one enjoy!
:dsm:

I'm 6'0, 280lbs, and I managed to squeeze myself in by playing with the dials on both sides of the car. I believe the one to the left of the butt cushion is for the seat 'deepness', and the the one to the right is for lateral support. Obviously the dials are replaced by switches with power seats. In my car, the cushion is at the deepest setting, lateral support is nill, the seat is all the way back and I have minimal problems getting out. My knee hits the side console, but I live with it. :D

I'm about 6'1" and 270ish and I was surprised how comfortable I sit in my 1g. I had to move the seat back all the way for room, but it is fine. Not very cramped at all.

6'3" and 170lbs here... i fit in my 2G no problem... don't even have the seat back as far as it'll go. But i guess that all just depends on how you like to sit when you drive... my friend's the same height as me but moves the seat back just about all the way when he drives my car.

hey thanks guys!
i did notice something, when i drive the 1g laser and the 2g talon, it was winter. winter here = heavy coast and bog boots (i live in canada)i probably can get away with fitting into a G1 or a G2 in the summer.
as luck has it, i went to work today, and there was a red 91 laser for sale. 5speed, red $1300....

I'm 6'0" bout 140lbs, and I fit pretty darn well. Maybe I'm just custom to my 1g, but it's fairly comfortable.

Good luck on the buy....I got my sexy blue 93' eclipse 5 speed for $900 bucks and fixed a few things on it. :p

im like 6' 2"- 6' 3"...not even sure anymore, and weight 180 lbs... i was surprised when i pushed the power seat button and it kept going back, and before i knew it, i couldnt even fully engage the clutch comfortably, this is in a 2nd gen eclipse, but i think these cars were made for tall and short people alike, my worst pet peeve in a car is when my head hits the roof, and messes my hair up, haha just kidding, anyways, you should fit fine in my opinion.

6'0 even here, 165 lbs. Fit perfect in the talon, comfortable, just right. My 6'8 300lb friend cannot even fit in the dang thing. Of course, compacts aren't his type of car, anyways.

I'm 6'5 310 and I hope I can pack my @ss into a 2g. I can deal with snug, because I plan on getting an aluminum race seat from Kirkey and droppin' some of my poundage anyways.

Back in oh four I fit in the Talon just fine, but now it's getting tight,
Do you think the Talon has shrunk since this thread was started?

i own a 95 gst and im 6'3 210 pounds and i fit just fine just have to put the seat to the utmost back pasition

6'2 1/2 170lbs. Just have to approach sitting down on an angle to get my right leg on the right side with the seat all the way back, sometimes I wish it went back a little further because my knees are always up against or rubbing the bottom dash unless I sloutch (sp*)

Im 6'6 about 240 lbs and i fit just fine in both my 94 gsx and 95 gs. its alittle tight in the 94 with a helmet and the 95 is just a DD. i am going to be getting some aftermarket seats for the 94 and i hope to mount them as low as possible both to help with head room and lower the weight from my fat self in the car for track days.

6'6" 220lbs. Definetely a tight fit with a helmet on in my 2g, but that's not going to change anything:DLando do you use a shoe horn to get in your car:p
