Wind Blocker for Spyder

Anybody figured out how to make a custom Wind Blocker for the Spyder? My Wife hates riding with me with the Top down because her hair gets messed up. I was wondering if I could rig something to block a lot of that wind coming from behind... kinda like how some of those Benzs and BMWs do it. Maybe I need to get a styling bar ("basket handle" looking bar) across the middle before I can set up a wind blocker.

If anyone has tried something or has any ideas, let me know.

just get her a baseball hat... yeah best bet is probably get the styling bar and then put clips on it and clip a mesh piece to it. it would keep it warmer in the cabin with the top down too.

I have heard of people modifying the ones for BMWs and stuff to fit. I also saw a drop top eclipse that had a roll bar added, probably only cosmetic, and he had a windblocker attached to it.

I'll skip over the obvious answer of having her get her head down out of the windstream...

I've not heard of an Eclipse windblock. I've seen a few tonneaus that cover the rear seats and fair into the backs of the fronts, but I'm sure they were all custom.

I'm curious if the PT Cruiser convertible hoop will fit a DSM. But I don't want to know how much Chrysler would want for one. You could put a Lexan or similar material block in one of them, it should help.

You may want to get some sheet plastic or fiberglass from Home Depot and do some research. Or hell, even some cardboard should let you find out what works.

Funny-looking as Eclipse convertibles are, you should be able to make a blocker that looks good in it.

i think with the top up, eclipse convertibles look better than a hatch... top down, who cares what it looks like? its nice to ride in.

Thank you for the responses. I don't like the options available on the Droptop.com website. I think I'm gonna try the styling bar and get the Wind Blocker from the BMW to fit. I actually think the styling bar looks cool and unique.

I think Spyders look better than the Hardtops, with Top up or down.
