I have a 97 GST with a stock ride height. Are 18" too big to be able to peform at the track due to weight? Iam looking at buying some and need to know sometime soon. Thanks Guys

Not at all man! It depends what kind you get, there are plenty of lightweight 18's on the market. My 18's are no heavier than my stock 16' chromies were. Just look around. :thumb:

TurboFrog, Do you have MSN by any chance if so PM me your addy. Iam getting a steal of a deal on some 18" Brushed Aluminum Wheels I dont know what that finish look slike though? Could ya help me out and maybe photoshop the wheels onto my car?

Dont have msn, just AOL AIM and Yahoo Messanger. Just post the pic of the wheels and one or two of your car and I'll see what I can do. :thumb:

Thats hideous I willl DEFINATELY need to lower my car. Could you lower it as much as lets say a eibach spring kit would?

Yeah, looks alot better! I messed up a little. You can see some background in front of the bumper. Ignore that. :thumb:

hmm, i think DSM's need wheels with a lip... it just looks better most of the time. Seven spokes is :thumb: though... just fits somehow.

Looks like a 16 on the back and an 18 on the front.

Yeah, Im not the best photoshop guy. I made the rear wheel smaller cause if I left it the same size as the front you could see no tire so it looked worse. :thumb:

18s on a FWD track/race car = bad idea. More rotating mass is bad. You want more sidewall for more traction and with a heavier wheel, you're basically robbing the car of its true power. Why do you think I ditched my 18" Motegi MR7s? Because I like the look of the stock 16s...? Now a GSX can get away with 18s obviously because of 4 wheels moving.
