Haha, yea mine was sunbaked in as well. I think it looks awsome though, in the right light and angle, you can see the word "ECLIPSE"

I think just about all sticker debadges on a 2+ yr old car will do that... The Laser did that, and so did Joe's Impulse.

ok i was just outside trying to remove my center tail piece in order to paint it black, but i can't get it off! I'll be using the search function after this msg is posted but any help would be appreciated.

GAHHH!!! i CAN'T GET THIS STUPID REAR CENTER TRIM OFF! The interior center panel is held on by two metal clips on the bottom, which i was able to force out; cracking the trim on one side  !! From what i can tell the rest of the trim is held on by these white cylindrical things that are held on by ??screws?? into the frame

Well I managed to yank one of them off, but i cant get any of the other ones off!!! My stupid shop manual on cd is missing pages  and just my luck, they are the pages i need! Someone help me please!

OK i got it off with the help of the 2gnt site

http://www.2gnt.com/www/files/illuminatedtail.htm

EDIT : one thing to note is that on step two where it tells you to pull down on it, first you have to pull up on it alongside the rubber trim to release some metal clips. I used a door panel remover to squeeze between the rubber trim and the rear center plastic trim and pull up on it to release the metal clips.

my g@y azz pin stripping did the same f*cking thing .. :thumbdown

The paint was all nice behind it and you could tell that the paint around it was faded .. i was pissed so i had to put the f*cker back on

Luke  :dsm:

here's the pic of the center piece as of now. I got "midnight black pearl" and didn't know that it would have blue flakes in it. Well I lined it up with the car and you can't really tell so i'll stick with it for now unless I find that it is really bugging me.

The clearcoat is wet on it right now and isn't very smooth so i'll be using a rubbing compound and/or a paint polish to smooth it out and make it shine more.

spray paint is bad ass .. ive re-blacked everything that has faded on my car and otherwise looks old so that it looks nice .. clear coat does wonders.

My engine bay looks brand new now cause of it.. as do the windsheild wiper arms and some other stuff. Its small shit like that that makes the difference.

Looking good

btw i found that the duplicolor high heat spray paint, #1613 (i think) .. with a couple layers of clear coat matches black paint real well. its like $3 something at autozone. I use duplicolor clear too!

if you pop your hood there should be one nut at the end of each one .. just take it off and pull the whole arm off .. and take off the blade and paint em .. then when your putting em back on just line them up like they were before. It only took me like an hour total and they look brand new .. cause before they were all white and faded.

Luke

anymore ?'s just ask .. i can take pics later too and show you what mine look like whne i get off work

yea pics are good. so you didnt prep them in any way? you just painted right over?

i also bought a can of nite shades, it's in the mail right now. I'm thinkin of smoking the reverse lights a tad when i smoke out the taillights

oh and update on my car . . .

Na i just wiped them down with a rag to get the dust off of them and stuff .. the paint stuck to them good with no problems..

Ill take pictures tomorow .. its raining cats and dogs here..

Luke :dsm:

you just painted random spots on your car that were faded and clear coated over it and it looked good?

i may have missed it, but what brand/type of clear coat did you use? a friend used clear coat after painting something on his car and it ate the paint off of the item....not sure what he did :D

I took off parts that were originally black .. and faded and repainted them and then clear coated them and put them back on ..

ie .. the black bumper guard around my doors and front and rear .. the wiper arms front and back and some stuff under the hood .. as well as some sun faded interior parts ..

I used Duplicolor high heat 500degree engine paint for everything .. i think its product number 1613 .. and then i used duplicolors clear coat as well .. both can be found at auto zone ..

ill take pictures when i get a chance.

I didnt paint faded body parts though
