wassup guys i got sum neon tubes under my dash thats hooked up to the battery. I'm trying to get it wired soo when i open my door they turn on. Anyone got any ideas to make this happen?

When I had neons in my first car, i had them hooked up to the dome lights, so when you put on the switches the neons would come on, i just wired them up the apillar or something. So, you can have the switch on for the door to open the dome lights come on, but instead the neons will come on because you take the dome lights out and hook 1 wire to one side and 1 wire to the other.

I guess you could splice them into the current door ajar switch(the one in side the door jamb, it pulls out find a power and a ground) But why would you want to, other than for show, the light would barley have enough time to fire

so how exactly did u wire them? how would u access the wires that go to the domes? Also can u have the neons and domes light up the same time? or would that be like an overload?

You can also leave the regular lights in, yes.

I ran the wiring up the side of the dash, Behind the a-pillar then from there to on the top of the windshield, I stuffed the wires through the front of the headliner(Between the actual roof and headliner. Pulled the dome light piece out, Ran the wires through the whole and in the back of the dome light, So there was just enough room to make it to the connection. It might sound hard, But it really isnt if you go to your car and look at the way i'm telling you. It should take 10minutes or less.

take out the lights by your feet. remove the bulb, use a test light find out which is positive, which is negative. strip quarter inch leads then place positive going into the appropriate side and make sure its solid and tape it, then negative to the other side, Behind where the bulb goes.

use a cig lighter adapter. its a cigarette lighter socket, and then two wires.
