Im going to have boost in the top of the pillar. then on the bottom oil pressure

in the gauges where those used to be i want to replace em with oil temp.

Thoughts?

You daffy bastard! That's OUR idea you better give me props for that one in a 2g gauge cluster! I have it apart right now trying to mod it.

Umm... huh? Yeah.. I know its a 1G cluster... the 2G cluster has less places for pods... so you end up losing a couple gauges. Seems to me the 1G cluster is better suited for this mod. But... hey. Ill give you the props when you get her done. Should do all 4 gauges though, for a complete look.

Hrmm see your missing the point. The boost gauge on the 2G cluster is definately pointless :thumbdown Since A LOT of us have other boost gauges why not just replace the oil pressure gauge with something that looks close to what we have. So I don't see your point in saying we're losing gauges when in actuality we're getting more accurate ones

Oh yea and another reason could be that some of us may have done the LED needle mod (because we're too cheap to spend $90 and buy the kit) so our stock oil pressure gauge is now in fact....pointless.

I just ordered the AC Autotechnic electrical boost gauge wayyyy longer then my boost gauge LOL Looks like I am going to have to mount my boost gauge there and oil pressure on my pod

I'm building one on my 2G right now. Started by making my own gauge bezel because the one I bought on eBay fit like crap. So I took the stock bezel and molded two cups into it. Fits perfect like the OEM piece (well, it is) and now it has two gauges on the corners.

The depth clearance sucks on these gauge clusters. I am molding a piece to the gauge bezel and mounting my gauges on that so I can fit the gauges flush. I cut out the blinker lights, high-beam indicator, and one side of the idiot lights and molding them flush into this panel. I'm going to have to rewire the idiot lights and move them all into one side because I am using all of the available spaces in there so I can have the ones I need (don't need SRS, oil temp, fog light). Then I am putting an Autometer 5" tach, fuel level, and 3 3/8" speedometer in the cluster. That's all I can fit. I have a total of seven 2 1/16" gauges (still need EGT) that I am going to have to put somewhere. I have a 3-pod A-pillar, so that takes care of 6 of them with the ones in/on the cluster.

Don't know when I'll have it done, doing about 5 different things on the car right now. When I do, I'll definitley post pics.

Alright guys this is what I have so far....Everything fits up fine and will run but I am going to make the boost gauge more flush. Will post up pics when I am completely finished.

looks great but one suggestion....replace the other side with the fuel and temp to an aftermarket fuel gauge or something so it doesnt look so off to one side. just a suggestion but otherwise looks good. i saw this done to a 1g but every gauge was replaced with an autometer one.
