this kid i know at a local perf. shop is going to sell me a carbon fiber hood a real nice one like top of the line, forget what brand, for 450 no tax. im really thinking about buying it today so lemme know if u think it would look better with it or without it. also i weighs like 7 lbs i think he said. also how much of a #@%#@%#@%#@%#@% is it to put one of those on?:dsm:

I think it would look really good on your car. I've see a few red ones with CF hoods, and they look really nice.

carbon fiber on a red car would be hot. The hood shouldn't be hard since most of them come with the holes already drilled. Get some picks of it when you are done.

Yes, dark hoods with dark wheels = :thumb:

It depends on the brand for how easy the install is. My VIS only took 10 mins or so to install.

A weight savings of 25-40 lbs (depending on brand and construction of hood) is not rice in my book. Not gonna make your much faster, but every bit helps.

yea its the veilside one rolled edges and i think he said it weighs 7 lbs. i think our stock hood weighs like 42lbs. so not bad reduction. if anyone has any pics of a red car like my color with a carbon fiber hood will ya post pics? thanks, lata.

i've been looking for a hood for my 1g and have'nt found a thing, do they even make a cf or any aftremarket hood for a 1g with flip up
headlights?

Yes they make cf hoods for your car, I think---check out
carbontrix.com

I went with one of theirs, and it kept getting messed up when they would ship it, and they were pricks, but yes they do have have them, and they do very nice work, i just disagree with their style of business.

losing weight is serving a purpose, any thing that serves a purpose is not rice. I still don't understand why poeple are putting those gt wings on, their not effective till 100 mph +.

I like them but i would get a CF hood only if it was paintable, and then i'd paint it body colour. Then you get the weight savings plus it looks stock. :thumb: I've just never been a fan of the bright colour with the black hood. Then aagin what do i know i'm just a Mustang guy! :D

i would definately have to agree, carbon fiber hoods are not rice at all in my book, they look clean, weigh less, and reduce the heat inside the engine bay, were as a stockhood weighs a ton and creates more heat giving ur intake warmer air, hey even a tiny bit helps ;)

Might also want to check out the black/red woven carbon fiber hoods.. you might like the look.. or maybe not. I personally like carbon hoods on some cars.. some colors don't look right though. Make sure you research & find a really good one that fits perfect.. nothing like a carbon hood that bows up an inch in the middle when the hood is closed..
