i just bought a 97 talon.....tsi..awd..

1. Body side molding is cracked... can i take it off and smooth it out or is there holes under it?

2. Hood is dented, i need a new hood, any website to buy a replacement hood or carbon fiber?

3. Bumper is chipped up, cracked...where can i buy a replacement 97 eagle talon bumper?

4. The letterings is purple! Granted my STi has pink lettering but, purple is bad too..can i get differnt colors?

if you need a new hood, get a OEM cf hood. if you need new bumpers, might as well do a 97-99 front end converstion, if you dont plan on bodykitting it up or anything. and take the damn letters off then.

oh and STi's may be fast, but they sure look like ass IMO. i hate the whole subaru look personally. the stock wrx/sti is one ugly car. and i HATE the bug-eye headlights on the wrx. but this is all just my thinking, dont mind me

If you are talking about the "Strakes" there are holes in the door, if it is a skirt then that is not OEM. 97 98 talons had door strakes but not skirts.

2 Might as well get CF or a good used hood from any 2g DSM

3: Unless it is torn too badly, fix it. Talon bumpers are hard to find, 97 eclipse conversions require new headlights and new fogs, thus are not worth it. Again best to search the local yards or a large yard like M&S. I have seen them in yard around here because of people doing 97 eclipse conversions to get the balck headlights, but they get snapped up by 95 96 talon owners too.
there is or was a tech article about fixing a bumper that was in much worse shape than what it sounds like you have.

4 Purple? mine was pink, I wish it had been purple. There was teal and green... but there was also SILVER. Getrid of the ones on the sides in fromnt of the rear tires, and jsut keep the rear bumper ones IMO. they are expensive enough. You'll need the EAGLE and Logo, the word TSI and the word AWD, all seperate. I think it cost me $50 from the dealer for all of them.

I wasnt here to brag about my sti, just a comparision. i like each car in its own unique way.. but turbo awd is in my heart

1. the molding on the door, it loooks like im going to have to replace it.

2. Hood.. where can i buy a OEM carbon hood ... good fitment...

3. I have a 97 so it has the 97 talon bumper, like yours. I dont want to conversion .. i like the front end, its got a little peice that is torn, its about 1 inch by 1 inch in a traingle shape, the part is still there, it just needs to be put back together..

4. I wouldnt have minded if the logo's were silver.. o well, ill figure out what i want to do with the logo's.

What color is your talon, and do you have any pics you can put up yet?

Mines loaded w/o leather, a real driver's car. (if you look at the paint you can really tell it's a driver's car!) If you don't get to agressive with the tires it actually is a very comfortable cross country car.

its a nice ride, little stuff is wrong with it.. but im not worried about it
