Got car back from shop. I now have skirts, Aerogear rear bumper, and stock front with RMDSM chin spoiler. I am now debating on getting the door caps. I think they will smooth out the sides, but I think it looks more aggressive without. I have a center piece painted the same as the body color, but I have not put it on yet and am still undecided on that.

Also, I have the drum to disk conversion parts coming monday so that is probably my next project. I may add the rear sway bar at the sametime. I sometimes wish I had gotten a GS, but at the time I didn't know jack about the models and what they did and didn't have. It is fun having conversion projects though.

I think that you are going in the right direction with the non-performance mods. It looks fairly clean. I actually like the way the RS black mirrors look with the black lip-spoiler. :thumb: I 'personally' (so no one jump down my throat) don't care for the silver tail or head lights and think that black housed headlamps and tails (like the CF Tails eclipse4x4 has) and brake calipers would complete the look.

What's your next performance mod going to be? Do you plan to go turbo? And where the hell is Grapevine, TX (I'm in Houston)?

I think the regular altezzas look better on the red 2g's. The CF altezzas look like crap on the red ones, imo.

I'm loving the rear bumper though, nice choice. :thumb:

Grapevine is between Dallas and Ft Worth. I actually live in Frisco now, North of Dallas.

I was going to change over to carbon tails and dual projectors, as well as blacking out the side markers but the cost at this point isn't worth it and I still think the red and chrome looks good.

I am torn between turbo and nitrous and have put off a lot of performance mods because of my right foot...

it is made of lead.

I do need a cat back but I am too picky about the sound and I do not want to be really loud or droning.

i love your car. very clean. just make sure you dont go too extreme, a nice clean look is better in my opinion :D

Body is pretty much done (might get door caps), now I just have to decide on go fast goodies, and suspension upgrades. (still need rear sway bar)

I too like a simple clean look, that is why I got the Aerogear bumper and the low blitz, while retaining stock front. Simple and subdued.

Do both. Start with a turbo. Nitrous has a better $/HP gain, but it's temporary and you have to get refills. Boost... well... it's... .

That is damn clean, i really like the foglights. I personally am not much for body kits, but you kept it clean and didnt make it look like its DNA strands were crossed with that of a catfish. An alternative to buying new heads and tails, you can get black head/tail covers, there is a red RS around my neck of the woods with the covers and it looks good. Keep it up!

I think that's the first time I heard anyone wish they had a GS...

GSX or GST would have been awesome but I didn't have the money and insurance would have been too high. I also needed a dependable car. Now that it is paid off I can get a second vehicle and be able to performance mod this one.

looks good how much did the side skirts cost for paint and install?

Body work is expensive, especially when they mold stuff in, modify the style, and clean up less than perfect pieces. It was around 600 which may be a little high but I can say that Best Choice Auto Body in Dallas did a great job. They listened to all my questions\concerns, and if there was something I didn't like, or didn't look quite right to me, they never argued or anything like that. They just took care of it. They even opened the shop at 10 PM Saturday night after I got off work so I could pick it up instead of having to be late to work trying to get it on Monday morning.

In most of my dealings with automotive shops I have never received customer service that was close. That alone is worth paying a little more IMO.

When the front of my car got backed into, the front bumper, DS headlight, and hood all had a lil bit of damage. The body shop around my town gave me excellent service, they replaced the headlight and fixed the bumper, and installed the CF hood i brought in without a complaint. I even asked them to fill in my stock lisence plate holes, he worked on them for an hour unsuccessfully and didnt charge me for it ("why charge when theres no outcome?" he said) after getting it down, he didnt even charge me for the lisence plate hole filling. Its places like the one you described and the place i went to that stay in buisness and have repeat customers. Looks good man!

Looks nice bro. I like it. I love 2G's with Projector head lights. But I would of went with the black ones instead of chrome. But still looks good. Nice choice on the bumper too :thumb:

I think it looks good.. What do you think about getting a turbo spoiler tho?? I think that would def set it off..That or wingless my .02.. Good luck :thumb:

Thanks for all the feedback. I am keeping the wing the way it is, I actually do not like the turbo wing. If anyone runs across some red door caps cheap let me know. I am pretty much broke for now.

What kind of sides are those? They are awesome. Dude, you really really need an exhaust. If you're worried about loudness, I'd go with A'PEXi N1 cat-back. It's real quiet at low rpm and sounds great when you take off.

I agree w/ infamouseclipse. I'd sell the tails, headlights, and the wing for an exhaust. IMO stock tail lights are something that should not be touched. I wouldn't paint the center piece either because I've seen it done on a red Eclipse and think it looks better unpainted. Just shave all decals and it'll look sick. Or... install a turbo and nitrous and leave the RS sticker. Then drop mayhem on anyone that crosses your path.

Where do you get those door caps you're talkin about? That's a good idea. I like the lip. I think it would look better painted red as well as the side view mirrors, fog assembly and red-out bumper lenses.

I think you're on the right track. If I were to suggest anything, I'd say you need a diff. spoiler, not necessarily the turbo style, but something else besides the low one, it doesn't go with your bumper well. I'm not a fan of the chrome housing headlights, the black housings own, but if you like them, keep em, it's your car :thumb:

Good luck with it in the future though, hope to see some go fast goodies soon :D

just a little idea.

red out the front sidemarkers, and maybe red out the chrome in the altezzas?
not a fan of the chrome look but that s my personal opinion.
