What's up guys? I just got a 97 Talon front bumper for my 96. It has a small hole in it that needs to be patched plus it needs to be painted. should I put it on first before I send it to be painted?

I would test fit it first. It would be bad if you went and had it painted and it fitted like crap. Also, the hole can be filled with something called dura-mix. Its a type of glue used to fix urethane and plastic type parts.

Ya duramix works real good. Test fit it, but take it off when you bring it to get painted.

You can get cheaper stuff than dura-mix its like 35$ a tube but you need the 200$ gun to use it. you can get epoxy that uses a calking gun for like 15$ a kit.
It drys a little slower but it just as good.

get some urethane filler. make sure you sand it down or it won't adhere.

Where can I get that at? How come it wont adhere if I dont sand it? Thanks man..

You can get the uerethane filler at any auto paint supply store. Its a little pricey for such a small fix but well worth it. I went to a buddys shop and filled my license plate holes recently. Be sure to use 80 grit paper to rough up the surface or as it was mentioned earlier, it will peel right up. The roughing up is the same concept as roughing up the metal or paint before you apply body filler. Be sure to clean(wax grease remover) the surface well before using good primer(2 stage). One more important thing is to always use a block of medium stiffness when sanding any flat surface. Sanding by hand when inexperienced causes hills and valleys. If you need any more advice give me a holler, I worked at a restoration shop for a while.

The hole is kind of big thou..about the size of a baseball.. I hope thats not going to be to big to fill?

Its not too big as long as you have the plastic that went in that hole. If its just an empty hole I wouldnt do it.
