Gauge cluster lights

I took apart my dash and now have access to replace the gauge cluster and intrument lights.

I want blue led, I have been unsuccessful in finding replacments for these, Does any1 know the part # for all the sizes of bulbs and where to get them.

I've never seen replacement LEDS for those lights because they are very small. I've seen them for the honda crowd which isnt suprising. I changed all the instrument lights and my needles to blue w/ LEDs. I just used blue leds from Oznium.com .

They have to be sanded down really small and i sautered onto the little ciruit boards. This WONT WORK FOR YOUR GUAGE CLUSTER. That is cause they have a film which gives it a orange color (for 2g at least srry). It takes some work but looks great.

You can get replacement LED bulbs for the gauge cluster. I cant remember the name of the place, but there was a big post on it on 2gnt.

Just an FYI, they suck. As cuttheduck mentioned, to get them to work you have to sand down the orange coloring on the back of the gauges. This coloring is also responsible for dispersing the light evenly. When you sand that off and use the LEDs, the lighting is extremely spotty and looks like crap. This is from personal experience.

Your best bet if you want blue lighting is to get a good set of reverse indiglow gauges.

Yah,, I wish i had a decent digital camera to show my guages but if you want a
good blue glow get some reverse indiglos from a place like speedhut. Mine
look ridiculously good and are very custom. I then was able to finagle small leds and
put them behind the needles which I then painted white. Now I have blue backlight and the needles literally look like little blue neon sticks instead of needles. Its sweet and the needles cost me 2.00 bux to do them that way. you can PM me if you have any questions


THE PICTURE BELOW ISN"T MY CAR, it aint even a eclipse. JUST SHOWING WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE W/ BLUE LEDS BEHIND THE NEEDLES. Its from importintelligence, though all their kit is is a litlle 50 cent leds they want to sell you for 80 bux. My needles look just like this but a darker color, compared to that. I'll hopefully get a hold of a camera besides a camera phone and get some in my gallery sometime.

Yah,, i could try to. I didn't take any pictures when I did it though so it is defintly something where pictures are much better,, espcially when taking apart the gauge cluster. I just found this link, and though it isnt DSM specific it defintely uses alot the methods I used. Just dont use crappy radioshack LEDS or anything and you will be fine.
