Carlisle,
 When I first got my car, I had to use the factory jack but had trouble reinstalling it. It has now been 5 years and I want it out of the trunk. Can anyone explain or post a pic on how it was installed? Was it held down by a band? This is really bothering me. I just spent 1/2 hours trying to reinstall it, any help will be appreciated.

After you set the jack in its compartment, turn the end, as if you are jacking up your car, so that both ends are pressing against the two metal posts. It gets held in there with that tension, not with any bands. BTW, that black band is used to secure the tool kit pouch. There should be two posts where the tool kit goes in between and the band goes around the posts. :)

Awesome! I have no idea why I just didn't pay attention to how it was removed but I don't know what I was thinking 5 years ago. Thanks again.
