Flat Black [Merged 2-9] paint painted finish

well i fell in love with the flat black look of a silvia in a mag that I picked up, and now want to do it to my car. So anyone got pics?

The CF hood will be on mine (came in yesterday, THANKS PRO STREET), but the rims will have to be chopped on...I have gunmetal RS Limited Ikaris.

that cars gonna look sick! i have also had the idea of putting on the Formula carbon fiber mirrors. THe dont make them to fit our cars, but they do make universal ones. all you gotta do is make a backplate to mount it to the car. But i dont know how goofy it would look on a 1g

I may not go THAT flat with the black. I like a little depth and reflection, but it is going to be a garage job, so we'll see how she turns out.

Landoawd-There's a non gloss clear that you can get that will protect like the clear but not be so glossy.

Alright. As some of you know I sold my car. Well it was sold..Now it is not. The guy who bought my car for $1500 wanted it pretty bad. He paid cash for it. He said he wanted the wheel bearing to be fixed before I give him the car. So I bought the wheel bearing for 44 bucks. Since I work alot I had to wait a little to find some time to replace the wheel bearing. I guess it was a little to long for him to wait so he backed out on me and said he wanted the money back and he didn't want my car. I wasn't too disapointed.
But what made me really mad that is that he didn't want the car turbo... This is when he first saw the car..He wanted it to be stock. He didn't want a already modded car and he knew it had turbo problems. My Big16G spun a bearing. And the 14b that I was running for awhile has been shooting shit. So I didn't drive it much. So I agreed to make it non-turbo. So I started selling most of the turbo misc. parts. I sold the AFC, uicp, and BOV. I knew I shouldn't of but I did. I still kept the 255lph fp, turbo ECU installed. Ran super ass rich. After all the shit that I did to it. He did not want the car anymore. So now I am stuck with it. I have shit loads of turbo parts in my garage and not enough parts to make it turbo again. Really pisses me off. I never knew how slow my car was until it was N/T again.
Now since I have it again. I have made plans on what I want to do to it now. On saturday I painted it. It's FLAT BLACK!. It looks badass. I never seen a flat black 1G before and I love it. I am getting Rota Sub Zero's in Bronze. And a VIS CF hood. I am going to keep the car Flat Black. Sometime next week I am going to finish the final coat of the paint. And I am going back to turbo once I get a few more parts. I will have pics either tonight or tommorrow when I get off work. I took many pictures when I was sanding, prepping the car for paint. And I took many before and after pics.
Sorry so long. But that was my story. I know most of you will love my car being black again.

Flat black is making a come back on cars! Back in the Rat Rod days kids would just prime their cars, but couldn't afford a nice paint job so they'd cruise around like that. But now people are trying to simulate that but with flat colors instead of primer. Also people are painting their street rods and custom trucks flat black because it makes their chrome pieces (wheels, trim, etc...) stand out more. I person like flat black even though it might be a flash in the pan.

Yeah Flat Black has made a come back. Ever since SCC did their Project Silvia, I have loved Flat Black cars. They had some bronze colored rims and it just looks sick! So thats the theme I want. Flat Black DSM with Bronze Sub Zero's and a CF hood. I also plan on blacking out my clear corners and tinting my tail lights black again. So hopefully I won't get much shit from people saying "why don't you paint your car" crap like that. But oh well. I will like it and thats all that matters.

i plan on painting mine flat/primer black also. my car needs alot to make it look better ATM, so a good paintjob isnt really worth it. it was repainted a lil over a year ago, but too may people bumped it and took paint off it.

im goin for the POS slow look anyways. my car is pretty dent and rust free, as long as it runs good that all that matters to me.

kinda interested in what your finish will look like if it will give it that "i dunno if its fast or not look?"
