What's up guys. I'm new to the board, but excited about finally finding a board with DSM owners. Several members of the car team I am a part of own DSMs and have complained about their not being an adequate selection of body kits available for their cars. I did some research and found a company that would be willing to remake an existing style body kit to fit a different car if we find a minimum of 10 people who want the same body kit made for the same car. Their prices seem reasonable and they claim the entire process will take about 4-6 weeks time. Attached is a poll to see where the most interest is for a new kit. Please vote if you feel so inclined.

can u make identical copies of the stock 97-99 front bumpers, rear bumpers, side skirts, and have them actually be cheaper then the dealer.. or anywhere else.. id hop on that instantly.. if id idnt already have a 97-99 conversion.. :)

Unless we can get a good number people interested in the stock bumper, I don't think it will be a possibility. Out of curiousity, what's the current price of the stock bumpers?

Don't know what you're talking about in regards to lack of kits for 2Gs and 3Gs. There are a ton of parts for those... hardly anything for the 1G, which is just fine because what's out there is just plain ugly.

I agree that most of the shortage is in the way of the 1st generation. What's out there is pathetic, but this is a chance to get a decent looking kit for the 1st gen or another nice kit for the 2nd or 3rd gens.

something along the lines of the buddy club 2 kit for 2g's that would fit a 1g would give me a gigantice boner.

I like a lot of the 240sx/S14/S15 Kits I see in magazines all the time, they're all really clean looking and not overly exaggerated blitz-ultra-bomex-aggressor style. I also kind of like the RoJa kit for the RSX. It seems like all these body kit designers that make cars for us DSM's don't even bother looking at the car. The buddy club 2 kit is the only decent one I've seen so far. Also, what I was thinking was if you could make a bumper that resembled the stock 97-99 bumper with the RMDSM(?) somethign or other lip "built in" for a decent price, you might get a lot of 2Ga's wanting to convert to 2Gb to buy. Especially if you made some decent side skirts and a rear bumper to go with it.

Or, make a 2Gb style bumper that could fit 1G's. I wanted one so badly when I had a 1G, but the cost/problems getting one to fit was way too much to warrant doing it.

TMI Kyle, seriously.

^^^ I like your thinking...'97-'99 front is the way to go for 2gers. I'd love to see a design with a built in front lip. I know id jump all over that first chance.

oh it would never go on my car, i'm too busy breaking shit to be able to modify my car.

Doing a '97+ conversion really isn't that expensive. For under $250 shipped, I bought a brand new OEM style bumper off of eBay, and they even prepped, primed, painted and clear coated it to match my car, all included in that price. Perfect fitment, and it's actually thicker and stronger than the Mitsubishi original part. For the rear, I found a shop quality bumper the right color at a junkyard for $150.

I like the stock look of the 2Gb. But what I've noticed is there really needs to be more options for the rear bumper and side skirts. I've seen only 2 rear bumpers and maybe 3 different side skirts. They're all either blah or just ugly.

I like the idea of a stock front with an air dam built in. What I'm REALLY looking for is a rear bumper skirt for the 97+. The bottom of the bumper is really too high, and it doesn't flow well with the rest of the car.

how bout somethin for the 2g talons. considering there are no options.

i would like to see a buddy club 2 rear for the talon. thatd be sweet

Something that doesn't look ricey ie huge as evo fog lamps adn no diving boards. I like a stock look but with subtle hints of badass

No way. The evo front end out there is one of the only few kits that looks conservative. Especially when done with Ion blue fogs and matched with a VIS carbon fiber evo style hood.

I agree about the rears. There is a serious shortage of anything decent. The problem with the 97-99 is not that its too high, it's that it has ass dimples for taillights. I saw one rear that looked decent and put those ass dimples on either side of the license plate...that was an improvement.

id say to make a 1Gb bodykit..

ive only seen like 2 and they r ugly..

just make lips for the 1Gb(front/side/rear)not whole bodykits.
that would be pretty nice
