hey all, i just got my 3 gauge a-pillar this one off ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...2&category=6755&sspagename=STRK:MEBWN:IT&rd=1

it fits perfectly, im just at a loss as to how to make it stay in place, the old a-pillar trim has these 3 little hook/tab things that hook into holes on the car. The one i got dosnt have these sooo i dunno how to make it stay up there, it sorta can hold itself up in the trim that goes around the door but its not nearly good enough, do i have to drill or something? thats fine if i do, just tell me how you did yours so i can figure this out, thanks:)

I superglued mine over the top of the stock A-pillar. Holds on there tight as a rock, but you can still pull it off if you tug on it.

Just run a couple dabs down the inside of the rubber weather stripping type stuff, a few drops at the bottom, and a few at the top. Press it on there for about 30 seconds, and it should hold on well.

I've also installed them using small screws.. but thats a PITA... go with the glue its much easier

Dont do some 5min job of it.

I know the auto meter ones like my last duel pod came with plastic screw LIKE things, but insted of threads they had fins, so it would only go in and be locked in place. You just had to drill a 3/8" holl pop them in and wala done.

I would TRY to find some of thoughs things before I used super glue...

no thanks on the super glue idea;)

so what i do is hold the pod in place and drill a hole through the pod then drill a hole in the frame in line with the hole in the pod and stick one of those screw things in there to hold it in place?

Take the A piller off of the car.
Get a good CORD drill (I have seen few good cordless)
Nice sharp bit <-- whatever size you need (you need just a hair smaller than the screw or the other thingy)

TAPE the pod onto the A piller where you want it so it wont move while your drilling. THEN drill the holes, put in the screw like thingys and remove the tape. Reinstall and enjoy.

No problem,

Oh and insted ot drilling a hole for each wire or the vac line as I asume you will install a boost guage, I found it is MUCH easier to just cut out a rectangle in the A piller about a inch long and 1/2" wide around the 2nd guage. I first did like 3 large holes, hah forgot to do them at a angel though so it didn't work to well, had to spend a while geting them all run and fiting nice. Just a heads up. It will save time and makes the install easier.

Use these to attach the pod to your stock housing.

Should be able to get them from Auto Zone, etc in various sizes.

Paint to match with vinyl dye.
