ive tried many things to not get streaks on my windows, sometimes you cant notice them till night driving when light hits it, but theyre there. i tried normal windex, went and got armor all "auto" window cleaner, tried paper towels, normal towel. i think normal towel and armor all did the best so far but it till streaks... is there some magic product out there i dont know about?

Spray-Away, comes in a blue and white metal can you can buy at NAPA, use 2 soft white terry cloth towels, one to clean, and the other to dry or polish in a way, keep looking at the windows at diff angles untill all the streaks are gone. Kind of tedious, but worth it in the end :thumb:

I know my father told me, (I have yet to try this) a old dealership trick. Soak a rag is gas, squeez it untill its just damp, wipe the window down with it, then rub any excess and streaks off with a newspaper... Suposedly it makes it 100% crystal clear to the point you can bearly tell there is glass there.. Oh and dont be stupid and fold the newspaper LOL, you should crush it up some.

I duno if I would try that on the INSIDE of the car.. but if it works as well as he says on the outside... might want to consider it.

I don't like the gas idea. Ammonia works well.

If you go one direction on the inside (up/down) and the other on the outside (left/right) you can tell where the streaks are more easily.

If you smoke in the car, you're shovelling sand against the tide.

I just use windex and wipe with Newspaper. Rub it back and forth until all of the excess windex is evaporated and absorbed. For me, it works like a charm!

Newspaper and Stoners (in an aerosol can) invisible glass cleaner. I once tried to throw a piece of paper out the window because i swore it was down.

Nope no ink smears.

I'll second that. Good stuff.

I am a big van of the 3m window cleaner. I use a microfiber deatailing cloth to wipe it down though. added bonus it melts bugs, like heavy caked on bugs from flying threw a swarm of may flies. I use it on the car and the plane.

On glass that would streak that I couldn't get clean before, I heard to use coffee filters. It seemed to work well.

I forgot to mention rainx wax, the actual car wax. put it on the out side of the window. it last longer and eleminates streaks. that and it works a helll of alot better than there liquid stuff.

use rubbing alcohol with a microfiber rag the rag will get all the gunk off and the alcohol will evaporate leaving no streaks

exactley^^

I use armor all auto glass cleaner with no problems.

I spray it on nice and wet, wipe it down to remove the excess, get a new paper towel and start rubbing it down, it will haze a little, but when you rub it with a clean paper towel the haze/residue gets picked up by the paper towel and disappears.
used to be a smoker and tinted windows, and never had any problems getting or keeping them clean. It does require a bit of elbow grease though to "rub off" the last bit of haze.

That Stoners is grweat stuff too, just can't find it at walmart at 2am.

Must agree to the "Invisible Glass". The only thing that I have found to be better is DuraGloss "Nu-Glass". Its like a wax for the windows. You actually have to buff it off.

Another thing I've found that works REALLY well is the dri-wash and guard Ion car wash, on the windows. It comes in a pump aerosol can and you can wash your car with it to.. i dont remember the website but some guy sells it on ebay. A buddy of mine here sells it locally the stuff is like magic.

I would have to agree the best cleaner is Eagle One window cleaner, no streaks and its safe for tints.

i agree, ive used the same technique and its worked for me, newspaper seems to work the best, even tho it seems strange :thumb:

I wouldn't use newspaper. Ever read the papers? ever look at your hands once you're done? Guess what you're leaving on the glass.

C'mon... using newspaper is like the old timer myth of "no back pressure = no power".

It all started when folks didn't want to waste money buying rags or car wash towels and everybody had plenty of old newspaper, recycling hasn't been invented, and because there was no TV or FOX News or Faux News for that matter. People used to wash cars with dish soap (which strips wax)... some still do and thinks it's the best way to wash a car.

The newsprint is what you want.

It's amazing that some folks are sitting in the biggest library that's ever existed, but they never go to another aisle.

Hell, most won't get up from a table.

Heres a simple way of getting your glass perfectly clean.
First use any cleaner you want and use a squeegie. YES SQUEEGIE! They are the best thing to use if you can use them correctly. (NEVER GO UP OR DOWN ONLY SIDE TO SIDE AND MAKE SURE THAT YOU OVERLAP THE LINE THAT IS LEFT AFTER EVERY PASS) Then USe a dry clean towel and wipe the dry clean part of the window to get any thing that may have dried after the squeegie. Then finish up by cleaning up the left over cleaner around the edge of the window.

PERFECT WINDOWS EVERY TIME.
